At Ann Demeulemeester…Gianluca Cantaro of L’Uomo Vogue

This image really doesn’t capture Gianluca’s personality because he really seems very gentle but at that moment he looked like such a rock’n'roll bad-ass that I couldn’t pass up the shot.
This is one of those shots that the long-term abstract inspiration will be more important than the individual pieces of clothing.

The young gent looks lovely, cool hair, nice lil’ jacket and a bit of a tense face, maybe too tense for someone attending a fashion show but his great white shirt makes me think HELMUT LANG! Please let us have Helmut back! The real one. The one and only. Helmut, you are so missed!

anon 10:41, I think the proper question is “WHY do white people get dreads like that?”

Sweet jacket and shirt. I would personally have chosen to tuck the shirt in a bit more and ad a belt and a hair cut… but everything seems to work for him, so big thumbs up

The jacket is miraculous–what is it made of? Leather?

Otherwise, rather standard issue, though the dreads DO pull everything into another sphere…

I really like the stark constructivism of the jacket, the black and white against the softness (for want of a better word) of his face and hair.

This garish jacket is by Dior Homme. I happen to have exactly the same jacket, an impulse buy. But as a straight male living in Chicago, I could never actually wear this kind of clothing. :)

The abstract inspiration for this painterly photo IS wonderful…but I have to say: so is that jacket.

The jacket is from Dior Homme. Spring collection 2006 .. and it was like 4000usd .. and its not leather.

Yup, Dior Homme and 100% silk. Emerges on ebay once in a while but still very pricy. beautiful!

Cool, I thought that was a fur trim on his jacket but it’s a bit of his hair! I miss Helmut Lang too Artemis :(

LOVE the jacket, LOVE the attitude!!! where is the jacket from?
This man has great style. Is that redundant?

Lovely shot. The cleanness of the colours mixed with the messy hair just take it to another altitude on its own.

i love how his Dior jacket (and probably the shirt too) costs thousands of dollars, but if you look at the button on his jeans, they’re $60 Cheap Mondays! The perfect high-low mix that Sart always talks about

What really makes it great for me is the combination of that semi military coat and his dreadlocks, which give him that fabulous urban warrior edge.

I love this look – very unique.

This brings a few thoughts to mind:

    1. The dark side of Michael Jackson

    2. No wonder John Galliano remained popular for so long

But seriously, the outfit is fun but not what I would consider stylish. As you say, it’s more interesting in abstract.

The hair must go. Dreds always look dirty and, on a white guy, they look homeless.
