I think this is my favorite iPhone shot so far.  My guide and I wandered into a totally random cafe for a tea while driving towards Marrakech from Skoura.  The combination of smoke and light made the cafe feel like a movie scene. Here is a video I shot at the same spot.

Ah yes, those tiles bring it all back — and the mint tea! It is so sweet, I was kind of horrified by all the sugar that goes into it. I have a little video of myself being shown their special pouring technique. Best trip ever.

Agreed. The photo is so theatrical and almost mysterious. You can really feel the heat and smell the scent in the air just looking at this picture. Congratulations Scott.

I’ve think I’ve eaten at this place. Great couscous with lamb. And, I like the sunlight coming down on the shot.

Not sure I-phone shots get any better than this, Scott. You may have peaked too soon. But at least you have set a standard.

I tried (and failed) to achieve similar atmospheric shots from my trips abroad. Very mysterious how to get just everything right like this…

Marvelous photo. So interesting how the still shot capturesthe timeless “soul” the stillness that the video misses entirely. Nice to see both together
