It just about works (maybe a scarf with a brown tint could balance it out further but would look oh so much better with black denim jeans. Be interested to know what shoes he paired this ensemble with…

I don’t agree with you : dark blue denim is perfect there, and the coordination with a scarf of the same blue is what makes it particularly work. Black jeans and a brown scarf would make it look common. I love a shirt with the buttons details.

Wow, I usually look but don’t comment here. This men’s shirt is just fantastic. Rarely do I see a man put together in such a manly way, but still refined. This is walking that line perfectly. Bravo.

I admire people who can stare right in the lense at such a close up.
(Don’t know if my english is making sense !)
This level of confidence is partly due to Scott’s approch ?

When I heard Mr Schuman speak, he answered a question about exactly this topic. Based on his response, I think that his approach does indeed have a lot to do with the comfort levels and self-presentation of the folks he photographs. (Perhaps he’ll discuss this a bit in his next book?) I enjoy your comments, Sevan–and they do make sense! :)

Love this. Love rich dark color of the shirt and the richness of the belt, so easy but so right on. The little smirk on his face helps too…

Great deep indigo, works fantastic with this belt. Don’t like the 80′s (Seiko???) watch.

Dark denim on dark denim with a dark denim-colored scarf? I love it.

The pops of brown with his salt and pepper hair makes the outfit look dynamic.

That belt is fantastic! I cannot find one similar, plenty out there with nickle or chrome buckles but no brass. Does anyone know where I could get one like this?

I am in awe of this shirt. Western details and wooden buttons towards the top of the placket and more couture details towards the bottom. The denim is obviously Japanese given how dark the indigo. I can’t put my finger on who might have made this shirt. I don’t think it is inside out given the sleeve/collar.

Crazy — I hope Scott can clear some of this up for us denim-heads out there.
