On the Street…. via Alserio, Milan

I think there’s something so charming about the dark quirkiness of these young ladies at the Marni show in Milan.

What I like are the sneakers! I do the L.A. thing and wear them with a suit making sure they are never tattered but in good condition. Is that Mona Lisa in the second photo? I love her gaze…

I think you should do a “just thinking about eyewear” They are a total game changer and when I wear different frames I feel like I put on a wig. The third picture made me think about this. Italian men take the most risk I think…my butcher wears stellar orange frames that make him look so sexy.

I love the pants/socks/shoes combination in the third frame. The composition is interesting, it looks as if she’s in a far away place waiting for her chance to go even further.

Love these looks. The first is more classic, but even then there’s a quirkiness. A quirkiness that they all seem to have in common in fact.

Hey Scott, I have been reading your blog since 2006, and have learned from and enjoyed it so much. I haven’t commented in a few years, but thought I should let you know your work has indeed brought me the visual inspiration and education that you have sought to convey. Fashion comes and goes, but the human spirit in the work and behind the work is as inspiring as it is in any other creative field – art, music, design, etc. Your blog has also gotten me through some dark times, when I needed to be far away, dreaming. Thanks. Keep it up.

I’m not sure how I feel about this-I do like their coats. But for someone who is caving spring and often find myself wearing color even in the dragging winter, I wish there was just a slight pop of color on these ladies-canary stud earrings perhaps?

So calming. Navy is the best for destress :) Black is always very serious and very formal, or fashion-forward. Navy is just plain comfortable and calming. I love it. I wear it all the time.

Totally agree !! Fabulous !!! The lady that appeared in the first pic elevated her look with the great collar, the bag and the epic eye-glass…

The third look is very good. I like that she picked a sober color for socks instead of something more flashy. The coat looks a bit too teared..

For me a lot of the appeal from the first two photos comes from their smiles. The cheeks are raised, showing some openness to being caught on camera, but at the last moment, the lips are pursed together, almost like they don’t want to reveal too much.

I have to ask… What’s with the granny shoes (top photo)?

I’ve notice you’ve been posting a lot of styles like that in the last year… that is to say, very pretty girls who are nicely dressed, and ruin it all with granny shoes… I don’t get it.

Somehow wearing darker colours always seem to evoke a deeper sense of mysteriousness…and this in turn makes the wearer a hundred times sexier!
