Ulla said that her Grandma made that dress – i don’t usually shoot models but Ulla really does have great personal style.

Oooooh that print is gorgeous on her and I love how she belted the cardigan over it.

A nice personal picture.Again everything matches in a simple way.The only thing that´s odd is the sad look.Maybe it makes the whole picture different and easier to remember.

Nice, but every girl in New York dresses this way now. Not terribly interesting.

What a great shot; completely timeless. I love the green of the foliage and the floral print, the unusually self-conscious (for a model) hands-clasped pose and the nifty sunglasses storage.

Nice to see a lighter print, after all the black. Too hot to look at black!

Great pattern on that fabric and love the belt over the cardi. Pretty and feminine.

I really love the dress–and the belt over the cardigan. I am definitely going to use that!

I wonder how many of us are influenced in our own style by this blog. I know I am. I used to have the occasional day when I’d leave the house feeling not totally put together because I was just too lazy or not feeling so great. Now I rarely do that.

I feel a new wristband trend coming on–the WWSD? (What would Sart do?)

The belt over the sweater looks great….the shoes don’t quite do the outfit justice though

i wish i could pull off that belt detail. and what a cute dress. :)

That’s sweet that her gran made the frock.

That being said, the shoes are too…expected what with the metallic thing and the watch makes it seem a bit “matchy-matchy.”

The style with the belted cardi could have carried itself without so much accessorization.

Do love where the belt falls especially since there’s already a visually created by the bust seam. Daring, in a way.

This is a look that women in all parts of the U.S., doing different types of work (even the SAHMs), can adopt. Even though she is a model, this look is real and wearable.

Sart, you shoot the prettiest girls in New York.

Haha! Anon. at 1:19, I’d go the other way – I love the shoes, but I’d lose the belt. That’s the part of this that seems unique, but I don’t see the attraction on this one.

She does look very fresh – like fresh vegetables fresh. Nice indeed.

THIS is how to dress in the summer. god, i’m so sick of the babydoll. she looks feminine and lovely, but like a woman, not a child. the colors are great, too.

And the belt really makes it cool and sweet!

    The dress is beautiful.
And the fact that her grandmother made it, makes it even more so.

    Is Ulla German?
Well, it doesn’t matter! In any case: She looks beautiful and the dress that her grandma made is really nice!

You see that bang cut? And that belt around the waist OVER the outfit? Yeah, Ulla is bringing all of that sexy back. I know, I know – everybody likes to lay claim to being the most stylish and at the forefront of everything, but Ulla really is. Check out the runway shows and you’ll see what I mean. She’s ahead of all of that by several moons. And she’s the most down-to-Earth babe on the planet to top it all off.

Great shot Sart. Good lookin Ulla.

Will Ulla’s Granny tell where she got the pattern for that incredible dress? Or did she make the pattern herself? Either way, I’ve been searching for a dress in this shape – gathered bust, fitted thru thru the waist and with a big skirt – to buy or to sew, to no avail. LOVE this look!

I like that this is summery but for some reason doesn’t look “girly.” And I like that.

very beautiful and elegant. I am so impressed with her grandmother’s sowing skills. The women in my family also made beautiful garments, but sadly those skills were not passed on to/picked up on by me. Are people still able to make such beautiful (and long-lasting!) clothes?

nice how you put her in front of that ironwork–it works so nicely, like the NYC version of a girl in a floral in front of a white picket fence. She is sweet looking, and I like the belt, the watch the shoes too. It works all of it.

    lovely dress!
but am suprised at you saying you dont shoot models?
    is everyone
in NY tall, slim and beautiful?!would love to see stylish curvacious gals too!

She looks great, but it’s a pretty ubiquitous look – and not just in NYC. I wouldn’t call it cutting-edge style where I come from, either (Melb, Aust – and we fancy ourselves as much more stylish than Sydney chicks!).

Well, he shoots people in the fashion industry, who basically all look like models, without technically being models.

What the hell do you have against models? you always go on about not shooting models – they’re some of the best dressed people around manhattan & if you see the girls at the shows you surely should realise most have great personal style – if you look back in your archives you’ve shot freja beha, anja rubik, jacquetta & a few others so I don’t understand why now you are against models? it’s seems rather odd .. not to mention unfortunate.
