I love this classic suit! He looks so comfortable in it.

You should wear your pants higher then and not wear 3/4 length coats. Just because you aren't as tall as him doesn't mean you should look like it.

That jacket is so well suited to and tailored for him it looks like a sweater worn with style and comfort

He definitely looks comfortable in a suit. For my tastes, the waist of that suit is too high, and makes his torso look disproportionally short. I prefer a more modern cut with a slightly lower waist line. Not talking hip huggers or anything so extreme, but not that high.

He'd look A LOT better without the moustache!

I'm not wild about the mustache, but he looks great in that suit.

Good combination, especially with the medium-spread collar shirt. Does the tie have a pattern? On my monitor it looks very dark blue or black.

Again I ask, where is the female counterpoint to him? Someone this age and equally chic. Would she wear the fetish high heels? I don't think so. Where are the non-fashion career women who could match this sartorially.

That is a classy white shirt. People don't often pay attention to white shirts, but let me tell you, not all white shirts are made the same. This is one is supreme!

scott stop kidding yourself this IS how you look in a suit! After meeting you in SF I realized I didn't even thank you for dealing with that line and making everyone feel like we were friends, if only for a second. You looked AMAZING, and thank you for doing what you do!

Very nice. He looks relaxed and not to stiff in what could be really an uptight look. The moustache adds character.

Absolutely perfect. The length of his sleaves, the cut of the suit, the color of both suit, shirt, tie. Pulls it off flawlessly.

Thank God I'm not the only one who thought he looked like a young Dr. Phil! Love the suit.

  55. Anonymous

    October 28, 2009 at 4:12 pm

I would love to see the hems–I am not loving the highwater lenths and rolled pant–to break the long, clean line seems counterintuitive to me. I am hoping he has a normal hem.

Handsome… this is TODAY'S MOUSTACHE, not Dr. Phil's 1970s porn 'stache. And he's WAY more attractive.

I do have to say the pants are a bit high and Scott looks better in a suit!

  57. Bell

i would like to see some cuff, otherwise, nicely cut pinstripe suit. can't tell if he's wearing a belt or not. my guess is not, since the waist is high enough where a belt is not necessary if the pants actually fit. and i like his 'stach!

  60. Alex Folzi

    October 28, 2009 at 5:05 pm

i love the color of his suit.

  62. Anonymous

that's the difference between a man that appreciates the art of wearing a suit as opposed to another who wears one because he has to. we are accustomed to seeing business men in ill-fitting suits who can't wait to get home and jump into a pair of board shorts. The Milanese instead appreciates the art of wearing one and the love that goes behind making a well-cut suit.

The only thing I would ditch is the newspaper.

No cuff and too much pocket square–very close, but not perfect.

  66. Bob

    October 28, 2009 at 6:14 pm

If you notice the front shirt collar and the profile of the shoulder to neck line on the suit flow perfectly. Its really unusual and makes it look really clean. w/o that Ikea thing. I really like it but can only assume it was a coincidence that a fashionable man has happen to him. Well done!

The top of his necktie looks scrappy to me, but love the high waist…

  70. aroonietoons

    October 28, 2009 at 10:38 pm

Wow, those are big-ass lapels, but he makes them work. Normally not a fan of the stache, but it complements his look so well that I can't deride him for it.

  71. greendress

    October 28, 2009 at 10:49 pm

his face looks as if it is just filled with so much character. and the suit fits him so well.

    a very good one sart.

  72. Anonymous

    October 28, 2009 at 11:34 pm

does anyone else think his lapels are too big? and his collar isn't the right shape for his face/neck… also loose, asymmetrical ties bug me. i know that's picky, he totally looks awesome.

  73. Screaming-Mouth

    October 29, 2009 at 12:07 am

    Surprisingly wide lapel…

  76. Anonymous

    1. Is his shirt truly white? It looks less bright than his pocket square, which is defintiely white and defintiely a ncie touch.
    2. The jacket fits very nicely across the shoulders. He should be flashing a bit of shirt cuff.
    3. A rolled Italian newspaper makes a great accessory.

  77. Laura K

    October 29, 2009 at 12:55 pm

h my gosh, as I scrolled down I just saw his face first and I thought "Wow, Dr. Phil , really?" and then I saw it was skinny Dr.Phil. So funny! I am glad others posted the same!

  78. Fernando

    October 29, 2009 at 1:38 pm

    What simple is elegance!!!

    Absolutly perfect.

  79. Jason

    October 29, 2009 at 4:09 pm

A black tie really? It works but I would think this guy can do better. And he better have some black monk-strap shoes on!

I love it though, you can tell he is very comfortable in a suit. That is what is all about, being comfortable in the clothes you wear! (and looking good of course!)

  80. Style

    October 29, 2009 at 4:20 pm

I would make the sleeves a bit shorter about 2cm , in order to show the cuffs

  81. Anonymous

"This is how I want to look in a suit." Me too! And you do look good in a suit. I only wish, in the last couple of pictures I've seen of you in a suit, that you'd worn it with a tie.

I once got a complement by a lady when trying on a suit. If felt very good (the complement, and the suit). If more ladies told their men that they look good in a suit, you'd see a lot more suit wearing men these days.

this is the epitome of a stylish gentleman! so perfect. and so italian!

you do look like this in a suit, no doubt about it.

  83. Emily

This suit fits him perfectly and the proportions are wonderful, but he's got nothing on you, Scott. Seriously.

  84. Anonymous

    October 29, 2009 at 6:03 pm

Ok, I've been thinking about this some more (probably way too much). The reason in my previous comment I wish you'd worn a tie in your pictures, besides the general excellence and coolness of neckties, is that it completes a suit and gives it a more polished and finished look. I'm not against wearing suits and jackets with open necked shirts. That look has its place and it often looks very good, but I think ties are underrated. I think a tie elevates a man's outfit the way adding certain ingredients elevate a dish. Even in the current trendy style of ties worn straightened or loosely with jeans ( and I really like that style, long may it last) it adds another dimension (a "dressy" element with virile undertones) to a casual or semi-casual look, plus all the other benefits a tie gives to a man's outfit (framing the face, adding a strong vertical line, etc.) whether the outfit is dressy or casual.

I think the tie is a key reason the gentleman in the picture looks so good. Its simplicity conveys confidence and its solid color bespeaks strength. It enhances his shirt, complements and mirrors the pinstripes, the silhouette of the jacket and folds of its fabric. It unifies his clothing, drawing all the elements together (including the watch, the pocket square, even the folded newspaper) to the center. It then draws the eyes up to his face, with the knot as an exclamation point. It tells the onlooker "Here I am. I am a Man".

It's the prevailing joy of spirit that you capture with the lens that I so enjoy. This, yet another example that brings me to a smile of my own. Thx!

I agree with anonymous above~~the tie is a must to accomplish the "Well Dressed Man". Look at James Bond, he ALWAYS wears a tie! :)

If you love this image, maybe you love it because it's a classic look. Wide lapels, high waisted trousers, slim sleeves – it's the Hollywood golden age of Cary Grant, Gary Cooper and Bogart.I hope every year that this look is on the way back in, for good.

He looks great. Would love a bit of cuff to top it off.
