I love her natural hair too.
I just did a blog post dedicated to Solange Knowles partly because she wears her hair naturally, despite all the pressure on Black women to straighten their hair, and not wear in its natural form.
This woman is gorgeous.
I was going to say the exact same thing as you, lovely natural hair and makeup, but her very simple outfit is also commendable, she brings 1990s infused minimalism to new heights! Beautiful muted colour combination, and cool mixes of lengths/rises.
I’ve recently discovered your blog. Being an avid photographer, I just want to say thank you for your images. They do “transport me to another place”. Visiting your blog is definitely a welcome distraction in my day. Best.
Love it. The gold accents from the zipper in the shorts to the watch and the Longchamp tote pulled this look together. I think her natural allows us to notice the little things (never underestimate the importance of a good eyebrow arch). Great pic.
I am speechless and honored to have been provided the opportunity to be included 0n Scott’s remarkable blog. Thank you for all the comments. I am a 19 year old aspiring model and to have received the feed back you all have given, I could not be more grateful. Again, thank you.
When you see her you might think that the does not care much about her style. It is not very stylish, glorious or eye catching compared to chic NYC. The is a beautiful woman. It looks like she chose her cloths randomly. She she does care and she does look very stylish and pure when you gaze her for a while. The light make up is amazing. It supports her fine and elegant character.
Her expression is a kind of mysterious to me. Is she self confident, is she searching, experimenting, more introverted? She definitely looks like a person you could tell anything.
I personally don’t like the watch and I think a nice and fine leather bracelet would make her even more simpatico than she looks on the picture.
OK. Thats exactly how I dress now! Cropped shirt. High waisted shorts. Neutrals. i have that exact t shirt. Its so very nice not to tuck in or have any extra length. those are the proportions of tomorrow. I am going to keep the proportions in the fall and winder as well. this would look very different if her shorts were hanging on her hips, and the shirt was past her belly button. Thast the most important part of the look. The thing that makes it unique.
She does have a great all American face. I mean besides the great separates. I didn’t notice it because iIwas loving the shorts and shirt, but now that i look that is an amazingly beautiful woman. if she isn’t modeling, someone should go get her started. What absolutely beautiful deep eyes.
I personally like long hair on just about all women. Halle Berry is an exception…but eventually as she moves along in life I think she too would look more youthful with longer locks. And those zippered shorts. What a great accent…very subtle too.
@ beringer and Molly; It doesn’t have to be correct or a compliment. If a poster had the thought that she wished she was black, then thats what she thought. We don’t need thought police, do we? Besides, its very irritating when people take something that is kindly meant and put their nose up at it because it doesn’t fit their PC thinking.
Natural and neutral fabrics and colors on black women are so lovely. Compliments her skin, points attention to her beautiful eyes and face. Love the big watch punctuation. Small, simple earrings and then, dark “natural” hair and tote bag? Classic. Clean. Casual. Elegance. The look appears effortless, just as it should be for a classy woman. Thanks for posting this. More…more! –Inspiring.
This is my second comment on this photo. I just had to return and say that I’ve visited your site occasionally for the past year, and this has to be the loveliest photo I’ve seen in that time. Masterful eye, Great work!
