It’s photos like this that remind me that I have the secret heart of an antiquarian.

Except for the phone, this could be a still from a French New Wave film.

Practically every doctor you will ever meet, and the vast majority of the well informed people on this planet (as well as a large number of people not with us anymore, people loved and cherished).

We do respect the choice of people who smoke without harming others (like the gentleman here who is outdoors) but please be cautious with those non-chalant comments.

Apart from the phone, that photo looks as though it could have been taken anytime in the last 60 years. Extraordinary.

Great jacket. He looks very cool apart from the cigarette. Lung cancer isn’t cool.

I am so intrigued with what appears to be ladies gloves on the table. At first I thought it was a cloth napkin…until I zoomed in and saw the fingers. I love this shot!

I recently bought a jacket similar to this. It was fun to go down memory lane with it, back to the seventies.

His mistress left her gloves on the table after leaving in a huff. He’s calling her to apologize for sliding the bill towards her.

yes in the pic, as like the sixties, to smoke could be cool. Right now is just ridiculous.

Setting judgment aside on anyone’s life choices, this photograph is stunning. The composition, the storytelling mystery implied, the typeset on the is a graphically compelling photo. Can we just appreciate that without all the other commentary?
