I can’t wait to shoot some of the famous London Sun Bunnies! or at least run into some of the Top Gear guys.

how could anything with a phrase like “famous London Sun Bunnies” be a joke!!

yes I am going to London but maybe I was overstating the sunniness

    Dearest Sart,
It was super-sunny here (really summer weather, Londoners shedding most of their of clothing, much to the despair of my eyes) until Tuesday or Wednesday of last week, then it turned much cooler.
But we can live in hope!

Good to see you’re practicing your puns before arriving here – they test you at Heathrow you know.

Hopefully that wasn’t the last of our summer and we can arrange a little more sun for you when you arrive

Ah. You might have heard about London’s four sunny days a year. We’ve had three already. Come over and see what this season’s umbrellas and raincoats are looking like. Looking forward to seeing your pictures.

Please go to Lloyd’s of London I dare say, you will not find a smaller area more dense with amazing style.

Mind you, I said style and not fashion. The Lamb pub in the Leadenhall market is a good place to start. At least you can have a pint of bitter while you take some pictures. Should you desire to go inside Lloyd’s I can arrange that.

yeah it’s a bit nippy at the mo. but really glad to see you coming to the capital. how long are you here for? if you get a chance you should check out Leeds, which is further north but always seems to have a good mix of well put together folks of all ages.

As someone who lives downunder, has travelled to London (bloody long flight), and is due shortly in New York, I can tell you both are in the northern hemisphere, and summer officially starts on the 1st June in both cities.

Please tell me you were being facetious with that comment!?

Liss the US works it’s seasons on a solar calander and summer doesn’t officially begin until June 21st. Summer begins in the UK on June 1st but in Ireland summer starts a month earlier on May 1st.

Can’t wait to see some comments on the Top Gear style – Clarkson’s denim with denim toped with either denim or leather, James May’s ill fitting cords with baggy jumpers or tucked in rubgy shirts, or Richard Hammond’s left over from the 1980′s striped shirts. They may know what to drive but they certainly have no idea what to wear.

Sart – just remember Americans have a Sense of Humor. The British have a Sense of Humour. And then there’s that funny little thing called irony… take it from an expat who’s learnt it the hard way…

Usually the only Sun in London is the one found on newsstands. You’ll find the Sun Bunnies on Page 3, but they’re not as stylish as the Playboy ones. In the meantime, as well as the City and St Martin’s School, as already suggested, Soho on weekday lunchtime may net you a few well-dressed media types. Have a jolly good time.

Oh God, you’ve done it now with your meteorological remark…

Anyway, summer is so LAST week. Now it is kind of balmy yet icy at the same time. You’ll love it. People are wearing winter coats and sandals. Yesterday I saw a thin white cotton skirt, sprigged with beige flowers, over dark brown tights and a pair of stout shoes. With a green jacket, but no, let’s not.
(I hope it does improve for you.)

Finally! Even when the Sart got as close as Paris I noticed a bunch of aquaintances in the sartorialist at style.com, so excited to hopefully see some more familiar sartorialists on here next week!

How ridiculous that the minute Sart says he’s off to London ALL the comments are about the weather. Way to retrench a national sterotype… I suppose it must be true, then.

Exciting! I was wondering how long it would take for you to visit us, Green Park / Hyde Park would be good spotting points, I saw Elle MacPherson cycling around there a while back. You could always come and visit me at the Albert Hall!

Looking forward to pics. Summer isn’t here yet, but the weather today is gorgeous, if still a bit nippy. Light scarves and cardigans.

So glad you are coming to London. I often spot people and think if only The Sart was here, he’d catch a great shot from her/him. One request though, please please please can we not have pictures of the teenagers in drab 80′s style clothes, there are too many of them in London and they are soooo dull.

There’s somewhat of a resurgence in cycling in London – hope to see some chic cycling shots! Check out http://www.cyclechic.co.uk if you want a heads up!

The meteorologists reckoned that the first two weeks of May were the hottest in London since 1883, it was beautifully sunny, about 27 degrees and warm evenings – higher temperatures than Athens apparently. Lovely days. So out came all the summer clothes.
Now it has gone cold, cold, cold… but sometimes sunny. Very confusing for outfit selection. Need umbrella AND sunglasses, woolly scarf AND sandals, cool linen AND cosy cardigan.
Talking of umbrellas in London – there is no better place than the famous James Smith and Sons Umbrella Shop on New Oxford Street. Founded in 1830 and still run as a fmaily business. http://www.james-smith.co.uk/
P.S. Please, what is a London Sun Bunny? I am intrigued :-)

Definately second the tip of visiting Jerymn Street, I’ve spotted plenty of dapper gents while mooching around there. Primrose Hill might also be worth checking out, though it’s much prettier when the weathers nice. And of course Camden, which is a stone’s throw from Primrose Hill. Looking forward to seeing your shots.

Are you in London now then? Here’s an idea: the Sex and the City Movie opens here tomorrow (Wednesday 28 May). Sure to be lots of cool girls dressed appropriately for it – on the other hand it could backfire and you’d find a bunch of fat slappers wearing bad Carrie imitation outfits, staggering around pissed on Cosmos…
