Only the lady above on the right could make it through as she matched it well with an orange shirt inside…

I love that the first woman and the man are wearing the same sweater. It just goes to show that the arbitrary gender binaries can be broken subtly, and what we wear is important. And menswear as womenswear is just plain sexy.

Ha! Good catch! Now that I notice this it is very cool. I wonder which of them “broke” that boundary? Meaning did the girl go into the mens department or did the guy go into the women’s? Also goes to show that the comments are one of the interesting things about this place.

Well photo one and photo four have the same sweater. Generally I love the bright colors but sadly the rainbow has been usurped by a political agenda and I don’t want to get into politics.

It’s sad to read that you actually believe that you could keep yourself out of politics by not doing something, i.e. wearing rainbow. However, in the democracy everyone – even the ones who don’t wanna get into it – is part of politics even if he or she doesn’t vote or wear rainbow colored sweater, because every opinion matters and every interest is to be represented. Yes, it’s true that rainbow is a symbol of a queer-movement and brings its political agenda together, and yes, you have every right not to wear them, but you cannot be outside of politics.
For the rainbow colored sweater on photo 1 and 4: I think it’s quite funny because it has some retro-feeling and got some humor in it.

I assume you’re referring to the use of the rainbow as a symbol for homosexuality. May I ask, since when is homosexuality political? Is sexuality political if you’re gay, but not if you’re straight? What if you’re bigoted and stupid—is that political?

I’m not a bright-colors-and-cuteness kinda girl, but these images make me smile, and I do like the occasional touch of rainbow detailing for myself. (When I was a young ‘un in New England, sweaters with bits of of rainbow striping were perfect for dismal late-winter days.) It’s also nice that these days, a bit of rainbow can both brighten one’s day and give a shout-out for human and civil rights for all!
