Super cool b&w shot! If it weren’t for the phone and a woman in the background, it would have looked to be from the WWII era. Bravo!

The coat looks uncomfortable, too small in the chest& hip, and too large in the shouders, and that ruins the look for me.

Quite right, Paula — a very poor fit on this military-style (or military surplus) greatcoat. I will add that the end of wearer’s jacket sleeve is not just visible beneath the coat’s left sleeve cuff, and therefore we must assume that this man is wearing a suit or blazer with too-short sleeves — or that they are hiked up under the coat — or that he is not wearing a jacket at all, in which case this coat is even tighter than one would imagine at first glance. All the comments saying he looks like a WWII personage are correct: in that war, raw recruits were often issued poorly fitting clothes, and refugees often wore whatever cast-offs they could find. In any case, in today’s peacetime world, this is not a good look, at all, at all.

I agree with some of the comments here – such a smart clean look that it could be from another era – if you take away the phone of course!
