Selfridges X The Sartorialist

Gender is a state of mind. If your personal style goes beyond ‘he’ or ‘she’ and it is all about ’YOU’, then join me as I host a casting event for Selfridges @theofficialselfridges #AGENDER on Friday, 13th of March between 6-9pm at the Old Hotel, Orchard Street, London W1U 1QZ where I will be on the lookout for the most stylish #MyAgender ambassadors..

No, actually, gender is not “a state of mind”. It is, in fact, a vastly complex series of biological distinctions built up through millions of years of evolution, in may ways obvious and other ways much less obvious. So if you can have fun with trivializing gender roles and pretending its a “state of mind” (which it may be in a physiological way, but not the way you intend) then knock yourself out.

It’s just a metaphor….don’t read into it so hard. There are enough grudges in the world…. ;)

Hi! I’m super into you supporting agender people.
If you want to further support people of all genders, you may want to ask the people you photograph what gender pronouns they use! (That is, when you ask people their name, ask them what pronouns they want people to use to refer to them.)

Great! Last week I saw a guy using the coolest ankle boots heels ever, dark green with a scotish fabric traditional design, he looked gorgeous! the only bad thing was we’re still in summer here, but I guess he didn’t mind.

Nice to see you are part of this project.

    Awesome concept…
Life isn’t binary, neither is sex. We need to stop living in a world where we compartmentalize from such an archaic point of view.

Clothing is inanimate. It has no gender.
