I’m guessing that the suit is undergoing a renaissance. Everyone going back to it, but in different forms of tailoring.

This is obviously bespoke. I like. And you are so right. I have seen more tailored coats lately then I have in years.

Stunning…the military tailors…naval tailors…civilians get fitted out in drabber City style.Tailors? It really doesn’t matter as long as he is from Savile Row.They are the best tailors (and the Italians) in the world. They make you a suit that you pay with your blood, only to find out the first time you put it on,that you have been wearing it for years.

Isn’t it gratifying as all heck when you get a new purchase, put it on, and feel like you’ve owned it for years?! Whenever that happens, I instantly wish I’d of bought two! I think when that happens, I’ve accidentally stumbled onto my style. I just can’t recognize the nuances. love the way you put that feeling.
This was made for him. You can tell very easily.

Very exciting and fresh take on a DB. The Gent also finished it off well, and the waistcoat was an inspired choice. Cast him as a modern, better-dressed Mr. Holmes.

I seriously love this. The vest is not matchy-matchy but complements the warm tones of the paisley tie. the whites in his beard are almost symmetric! the buttoning at the first pic looks naval indeed, but is to me very edgy! Darth Vader or what, he is one stylish gentleman. Mind you, Darth was uber-stylish..

One of my favorite shots, Sart! Never would have thought of treating a classic suit like that but it works so well. Sharing with the 20-something nephews.

Two beautiful pictures of a so well dressed man. People who say that men’s tailoring is boring don’t know anything about menswear. I know guys who would describe this man with awful words only because they’re so into the Gucci “genderless” idea of fashion.

The paisley patterned tie was already obsolete in the late eighties.

Fabulous. The only downside is the price.

Nifty and cool

Wow, a man would have a surprise jacket disguised in a classic jacket. I love it! Sart, I adore men’s clothing. I more often than I can remember have wanted to find blazers and pants cut like a man’s ut fitted to a woman’s shape. Perhaps this dichotomy is impossible!

Nice but, didn’t Nudie make a jacket like that two or three years ago..?

the doublebreasted jacket (19.century) was initially meant to work like later a motorcycle jacket – you could guard yourlelves against the wind by closing it up fully -
very beautiful work herew -
but the vest – never with a doublebreast .

I must reduce my girth in order to wear this and look good in it.

Perfect look for a gentleman.

Incredible classic look – it’s a shame that the concept of a perfectly fitted men’s suit hasn’t trickled down to the masses in most places, although price is obviously a barrier. Definitely one of my favorite recent photos of yours!

It is also the vertical cut of the pocket that gives it a twist and allows the transformation into a sailors coat. I do agree with Carl that waistcoats with double breasted are a bit risky, that is because they look kind to flappy if unbuttoned but the cut here is so slim that it looks Ok. Glad to see the hem is going back to below-the-buttock’s lengths. the short jackets of past seasons made almost every man look like they had a fat ass….

To be a cincero this look was super elegant and the good is that it combines with several occasions but I would not use it in the hot seasons of the year like spring and summer, and the main reason is because now I’m living in Brazil.
