I can’t think of anything that would look good with these…shoes. Not even a nun’s habit.

Keep the shoes. This is a great no-nonsense, well proportioned composition.
November 14, 2014 at 7:41 pm
but i think that’s the intention, no? the hem length is also very wrong for her height and paired with those claudstompers i’m feeling like this is the intention and in it’s way the beauty of it. being so very wrong that it’s right. yes?
November 15, 2014 at 5:14 am
a classical still very interesting outfit! bravo! :)
November 15, 2014 at 10:24 pm
What she is wearing looks good with those shoes. I love her look.

I agree. And the proportions are NOT good. You just have to cover up the feet and see the proportions come together.
November 17, 2014 at 6:53 pm
I think she looks gorgeous. In fact i would call this outfit pretty much perfect.

Love the hat and skirt. And a monochrome look always gets my vote.
No to those shoes. The rest of the outfit seems off, with the sweater tucked in and the hat that doesn’t fit. But those shoes are so unflattering, especially with bare legs and black footies.
December 1, 2016 at 12:54 am
obviously a costume she’s an Italian widow
November 14, 2014 at 5:03 pm
Nice purse and hat. Her shoes looks like the ones that my elderly grandmother used to wear. Ugh! Ugly!
November 14, 2014 at 5:26 pm
What pretty look!

I had the exact same thought: the show are so clumsy-looking! I think no nun ( and no one) would wear them in comfort.

I don’t know. The shoes aren’t that bad. The outfit as a whole looks good.
November 14, 2014 at 7:19 pm
Why is it that you only (mostly) post pictures of skinny women? Surely there are normal sized and even fat women you encounter, outside of Latin American countries, who are well-dressed? It’s just a little discouraging to constantly see fashion icons / role models who are nowhere near my body type, despite the fact that I eat healthy and exercise.
(I’m not saying anything in particular about this woman’s outfit – she’s gorgeous and I love her sense of style. I’d just like to see people on your posts who look a little more diverse.)

She’s absolutely breathtakingly beautiful, regardless, end of story.

She looks wonderful until you get to the things on her feet.
November 15, 2014 at 7:38 am
I love it. I’m into black outfits at the moment, and the shoes look like they’d be pretty comfortable and I think they are kind of cool. I could imagine wearing them with lots of outfits.
November 15, 2014 at 7:44 am
A very pretty woman, actually, but I strongly dislike the style. Those are the kind of shoes really old, witchy ladies used to wear. The hat and the all-black garb underline the witchy aspect.
November 15, 2014 at 8:02 am
I like her clothes, but not shoes. But the general attention is provided to her ;)
November 15, 2014 at 8:56 am
Everything but the shoes…
November 15, 2014 at 9:14 am
If the top half was paired with a long, swishy pair of wide-leg trousers …. then we’re talkin’. SANS THOSE SHOES.

November 15, 2014 at 3:28 pm
I think that the shoes would look better without the visible little sock-lets, but overall I like the look. The volume at the bottom of the skirt works well with the shoes. And why all the hate for the shoes? They’re kinda groovy and certainly much better than the running shoes that so many are raving about right now. (And by running shoes I mean running shoes, not cool sneakers like Stan Smiths, Adidas shell-toes, Puma suede classics, Chucks, etc. They’re great.)
November 15, 2014 at 4:29 pm
Awesome outfit. I am in love with her gorgeous midi skirt!

Those shoes are screaming “made you look”. I think she is off season. Would love to see her in summer.
November 16, 2014 at 2:04 am
sorry, there is nothing nice to say about those shoes!
November 16, 2014 at 3:00 am
I often find all-black-outfits a little too.. I don’t know how to express it, ‘depressing’ would not be the word but something like too ‘colourless’. However, this one really works and rocks !
November 16, 2014 at 5:10 am
What’s the name of this type of shoes? I think it is also a must have item in this F/W. With midi dress, AWESOME.
November 16, 2014 at 6:28 am
Brilliant. Shoes are awesome.
November 16, 2014 at 7:00 am

November 16, 2014 at 9:21 am
I really don’t like the shoes. http://preppyordeppy.wordpress.com/
November 16, 2014 at 10:19 am
What’s the white line between her hair and face?
wig or funny tan..
November 17, 2014 at 4:33 pm
Hah – your post made me look again. WHAT IS THAT WEIRD LINE – it creeps me out!
November 18, 2014 at 10:36 am
Not very flattering, but far from creepy, imo. My guess is that it is make-up or tanning lotion – her face and neck look to be darker than the rest of her skin. Somebody wrote that the style looks Spanish; maybe she is a model and she was “tanned” for the runway in order to underscore the Spanish look? Or she applied too much self-tanner – happened to me once (and never again!).

without those shoes the outfit would have been nice but not exceptional: just somewhat classical look in black. The clunky shoes give it another vibe, the look is edgy and quirky.
November 16, 2014 at 11:16 am
Love the hat!
November 16, 2014 at 12:16 pm
The Hat & Jumper are winners for me
November 16, 2014 at 1:08 pm
I love her whole look. But I agree, I would have tried on another pair of shoes at home after looking in the mirror in those. With other shoes, she would have looked glamorous. With these shoes she looks like carefree and fun, so it is fine. But above the shoes, I love it. And the bag adds a little color pop, which is always nice!
November 16, 2014 at 5:02 pm
I LOVE the shoes, they make the whole image interesting.
November 16, 2014 at 6:47 pm
The longer length and the flare of the skirt is so flattering, but I really like, and really want, those shoes!
November 16, 2014 at 6:58 pm
The outfit is really great (especially the skirt) but I can’t make friends with these shoes…
November 16, 2014 at 10:54 pm
I absolutely love this, especially her hat and low bun!
November 17, 2014 at 12:22 am
beautiful grey and black textures!
November 17, 2014 at 2:49 am
I actually love those shoes! They make the outfit, IMO.

I love all that navy with the Spanish hat- but I think these shoes do not look good on anybody. They will be gone in a year’s time.
November 17, 2014 at 8:49 am
Nice…a little bit spanish
November 17, 2014 at 9:32 am
With those shoes she makes me think of a cartoon character – a little bit Minnie Mouse, a little bit Olive Oyl, with a bit of women’s prison warden thrown in for sobriety…strange effect!
November 17, 2014 at 12:21 pm
This wouldn’t work for me without the hat, on account of the shoes. But with the hat, this is pretty great.
November 17, 2014 at 5:32 pm
Once again, as I scroll down, I love the whole outfit – hat, monochrome, well-fitted top and skirt – and then I get to the shoes. Ugh. Nothing redeeming about those.
November 17, 2014 at 6:54 pm
The really great style always has some controversy around it. Its the pictures where everyone oohs and aahs that are usually boring and unmemorable. This one is great.
November 18, 2014 at 6:36 am
La gonna ed il cappello rigorosi, il maglione informale ma di una tinta scura, la scarpa quasi avveniristica e la macchia di colore della borsetta creano un insieme veramente interessante dando vita ad un look unico e peculiare.
November 18, 2014 at 8:54 pm
I think the hat has a similar sharp line to the hats worn by men at the Sevillanas Flamenco “Party” dances at Ferias in Andalucia Southern Spain. The shoes though I agree, are strange here but in the way they make the skirt and importantly, body shape look like a Paula Rego painting. Interesting!.
November 19, 2014 at 10:57 am
I wonder which one(s) you mean? Paula Rego is undoubtedly an excellent painter, but I’m not at all sure I would want to look like one of her paintings!
November 19, 2014 at 7:19 pm
Ha ! true!. I would not want to either. Rego is indeed a good painter … but also of the dark and grotesque. Here the stance, the full skirt, the chunky-ness of the shoes- giving a shortened look to the legs is something that gave me a general feeling of Rego.
But the style I think is far more like that of the horse riding Caballos of Jerez and Cordoba, their hats in particular but also their neat, soft fabrics and sharp cuts. An interesting photograph!.
