This is a photograph of my elegant grandmother, Beverly, taken in a fabric store (she was a skilled seamstress herself) during the 60s in Los Angeles.

AMAZING…
First when I saw this picture I was thinking it was one of your shoot ! But after when I understood that this photo was taken in the 60s, I’m just stunned. The quality, the colors and above all the brightness of this photo make me speechless !

You know I really respect how in American/Western culture a woman’s strength was shining even back in the 60s. Coming from South Asia, it’s still such a struggle.

The only place in the U.S. where a fabric store like that still exists, that I am aware of, is Britex in San Francisco. Not to be missed if you are a lover of textiles.

I am in awe over this. It’s amazing how trends just keep coming around and around…I thought this was a modern photo that someone made look vintage. Inspiration from the 60′s is always a favorite of mine :)

What a lovely idea to post a picture of your Grandmother… Obviously, she was very chic :) My Grandma was the same way in the 1930′s and 1940′s. Always put together and with matching hat and handbag in tow :)
