Wow. I can’t even see the clothes. All I see is eyebrows. I realize that they are trying to make a statement, but the clothes should stand out while everything else fades into the background. It’s supposed to be a fashion show / fashion week. Save these models for an Ernie/Bert reunion show.
Love Muccia. To me she is always inspiring, so intuituive…..and wearable, from 20 somethings to 80 somethings . Oh sure, we might mix up the shoe and certainly not have the catwalk look of models. It’s a catwalk, they are meant to look over the top. To me, no one does it as inventively wearable and timeless as Muccia. Fantastic!
Harsh/curt/brutal/Edwardian-mod cuts of lush genius…the textures must be as rich as they look. The shoes are really insane, especially the first three “rubber-skirted(?)” contrast oxfords. Creating interest through wearing Prada is an under-understatement.
This is very 60′s inspired – the first look is remarkably clunky and awkward. Beautiful prints unfortunately presented – they look like they are for much older women. Photos 6 and 7 not so scary – no one under the age of 70 would wear 8, 9 or 10.
Just incredible but a little bit disappointed because the Men’s show was back to the Empire clothing and I thought that Miuccia would be back with the women collection ! Where are the dresses and silk fantasies ?
I have a pair of black suede wedge Prada ankle booties with ruffles that I think are exquisite, so I am a Prada fan. The shoes in this collection are clunky and ugly, in complete contrast to the visually arresting prints.
I am in the minority (as always) as I am a fan of gender, so any kind of menswear collection not for men is a turn off for me no matter how well-crafted. I study and speak French and Italian for the delightful reason that in those languages, everything has a gender: a window is feminine, a boat is feminine, a tie is feminine, bread is masculine, a coat is masculine…..so the love of gender distinctions is ingrained in me.
honestly what is wrong with you people (who liked it of course) – those were some of the ugliest brocades i have ever seen in my life, and silhouette – don’t even get me started
shoes, agreed, were cool – prada often gets that right, but clothing, good lord miuccia – if style.com happens to be right and this collection sets the direction for womenswear for the next few seasons, remind me to aim my magic plutot at the jersey crowd – because they’re gonna be more tastefully dressed, for once, than the good old nyc/paris/italy/anywhere reasonable to live crowd
If I don’t iterate it enough, my friend, the photos are absolutely stellar.¬† These M. Prada collections however are uninspired and completely redundant, in my opinion anyway. Totally boring clothes, nothing much to draw from here for living a real life. ¬†(I get that that’s not the point of Couture, but I can’t even see an in with this Prada stuff lately).
