OMG, I love this playful ensemble. I want to see it in black and white to see how vintage it could look!

Yes. And seeing it in color is also a treat, with the beautiful pink band at the bottom of the skirt! So 1940s if I have my fashion eras correct. The whole scene looks so storybook-like – unreal!

this is a very eccentric look to me. not everyone could wear this.

I like the modern take on vintage. but wonder does her skirt feel heavy to wear b/c of the fur detailing? nevertheless, I do like that look of traditional fur with more modern (or faux?) fur. it works even though it seems a little experimental.

The shoes and socks detract from the rest of this woman’s look. Those pieces lend a little girl element, but in neither a complementary nor complimentary way. If the woman is adult enough to wear a fur (or a good faux fur), then she should wear an adult shoe or boot.

or perhaps she is expressing what SHE likes!

Oh, Bob, enough with the “free to be you and me” . We are all far too opinionated for that!

Completely agree with CW. I would have love to seen this look with a more grown up shoe, personally. But I also agree with Bob that she ultimately should express what *she* wants.

M – is fashion not in part about self expression and accepting other’s freedom for self expression even if it’s outside our personal taste?

Now this is something well thought off. And the picture is great, I particularly like the contrast of the outfit with the background.

I am tired of the mix-it-up look. Very few can pull it off. This woman’s face is grown-up and wonderfully stern. But then she is wearing little girl shoes and a little girl dress.

How much better with same hair, same bag,, same coat, but a simple long pencil skirt and simple heels. She would look so much more sohpisticated. Why the cutesy ?

It is interesting how she pulls of the “grown woman look” on top, but choses a pair of childlike shoes. Almost as if she doesn’t want to grow up from the child inside. And should yet be treated with the some of the grace that a child is treated with.
