On the Street….All White, Paris

I’m always jealous of people that can wear all-white with such confidence and ease.

I’d always be checking if I spilled something or sat in something.

Maybe the smart way ,for me, to wear all-white is to wear it for short, specific events (with very little food served) like maybe an exhibit opening or ballet performance.

She’s sexy, but I need to give a bit more thought to the dress.

    Truly lovely.
    So much to like here.
Clearly she’s not going anywhere formal, sophisticated casual.

Love the dress! The slides NSM. But that seems to be the essence of French fashion. Put on elegant clothing, delicate jewelry, and finish with the most god-awful, clunky, funky, footwear you can find.

Great dress on a fab female except for the part at the bottom they forgot to trim.

Proving that a woman can be very sexy while dressing modestly.

Clearly I am missing something here to judge by the comments. I thought at once, ah, perfect. Even the birkies with what looks like travel stickers that used to go on luggage. I know, weird, but she makes it into wonderful!

The skirt draws male attention to nice legs. That is its only purpose. Feminists in The Sartorialist readership, get over it.

I like the entire look – not usual for me. I think the reason is that she uses almost no jewelry anywhere. This adds to the simple lines of the dress and makes it stand out in its starkness. Somehow the “Shower Slippers” , at any price, work too. Silly and sophisticated done right

In the summers of my childhood, spent in Finland, especially older people wore white linen clothes in summer. Clothes that were off white, or cream colored, and even if crumpled looked sort of casually elegant.
I have only recently dared to try something of the sort, with unpressed cotton and linen layers, not matching, but in various shades of off-white and light gray. And have been stopped several times in the street by people who say how great it looks. Feeling comfortable in them, I don’t even think about trying to avoid spots etc.
I just throw everything in the washing machine and don’t bother about ironing.

A great example of how footwear choices can make or ruin an outfit.
