Wow very unusual collection. Nothing one would wear every day but pretty cool.

Definitely an unusual collection, they look like insects with their insides on the outside…

Love your discipline and creativity but you want some spice. This collection begs the question WTF, who are they designing for and to what end? How few women could pull this off. Does it reflect the bipolarisation of our economic system, images freely available to all but the real thing only for the very few. Maybe the fashion industry has become too much wealthy gay men, certainly the function of making women more attractive to men is muddled. Cheers

I would have to agree with elements of this comment, firstly; who does buy this stuff and what are they using it for? I understand the editorial value of these pieces and the fact that they are art but wearable? On what planet? It’s as if Rei has taken the best bits of Thom Browne’s body dismorphia and added a heavy dose of horror!

I have too agree with you both…few of those items are artistic…but they belong in an art exhibition and not on the runway!! This kind of made me think…are there limits?

this is dumb and giving fashion a bad name. I hope it’s
    not serious.

Those are more pieces of art than clothes to wear, and the photos are beautiful!

I like the color range of the collection. It balances crazy shapes. Would love to see someone wearing it on streets.

Female Oompa Loompas? My cyncism-button is glowing. I suspect this is an attempt to garner LOTS of free Magazine space to sell perfume et other small affordable items to the masses. Out of curiosity I looked up what sorts of accessories they’re offering – I found lots of very ordinary-plain wallets at designer prices along with perfume and a few shirts and other unoffensive articles of clothing.

The first outfit was obviously stolen from the Michelin Man collection.

Looks as if inspired by Laloux’s film, “La Planete Sauvage” a great film but no, not so much a good thing when applied to women’s fashion.

After collections that have struck me as uninspired or worse, this, at least, makes me smile! The penultimate look reminds me of Edward Gorey’s stranger work.

I consider this collection more inspirational and art then wearable fashion, but you can get a lot of ideas from this collection. There for, I appreciate it.

Even as a novice, and a fairly poor dresser myself (aspiring to ascend to a more fashionable sense of style), but as a visual artist, it immediately registered with me, as a fashion-art exhibition, using the human form and making the clothing morph from/with the bodies, like sculpture…interesting concepts…..

She’s JAPANESE. Its part of Rei Kawakubo’s CULTURE to design “extreme”. I bet everyone in Tokyo is going “BRAVO!!!!”. lol =)

Rei Kawakubo noted in her show notes that her monster collection was a reflection of “the craziness of humanity, the fear we all have, the feeling of going beyond common sense, the absence of ordinariness, expressed by something extremely big, by something that could be ugly or beautiful.”
