Vintage Photo

H&B_1954_SartorialistWeb

My parents on a winter excursion. According to my mother, the photo was taken in 1955 or 56 on the Feldberg, a mountain close to Frankfurt/Germany, where they were living at the time and had met not too long before. My mother remembers her jacket to be a Bogner design in dark blue poplin with a red and white seam around the inset of the hood. She says she was very proud of this Jacket and I can understand why.

I love finding old pictures, especially in black/white. I once found one of my dad, since then I keep the picture save.

That’s a cool picture. And the coolest thing about it? It was taken at a time when cool meant …. cool, as in being in the snow.

    great picture!
but the feldberg is in the south of germany in the “schwarzwald” (blackforrest).
Frankfurt is some hundrets kilometers away. germany is not so small ;)

Funny, several people here don’t seem to “get” that this is not a photo of Scott Schuman’s parents. I would have thought it was fairly obvious, considering the fact that his first name is not Moritz.

You really should post more imagery from the past Scott!
I love this one of your parents. So young and vital. How about digging up old photos over the years of street fashions taken in the same places you snap?
