How about the spectacles, would you wear them now? It always seems easier to fall in love again with certain prints, looks, etc from the past when it comes to clothes and some accessories but we seem a bit shy when it comes to statement eyewear, no?

Your mother is dressed as girls at 23 today are wearing, or very similar. Maybe the length of her skirt may be longer than they are today.

wonderful photo…i have photos of my mom is clothing that at that time everyone wore including Diana Vreeland …. now very few americans follow fashion…so in the future when u find vintage photos it wont necessarily reflect fashion of that time

That doesn’t make any sense at all. What do you mean that Americans don’t follow fashion? Do you mean that people dress in their own individual style more? That is certainly good. But fashion isn’t made by designers or magazines. Its made by people in the street. So you don’t need to follow it. What most people like to wear at any given time IS the fashion of that time. What Americans like to wear is exactly what is in fashion in America at that time by definition.

At the time of this picture, women were much more feminine even when wearing pants, there was always a nice belt, real shoes (no flip flops) and make up !
A silk scarf worn the way this young lady did is very classy.

She looks absolutely lovely. The headscarf and the glasses give her an elegant look that is timeless, and although the silhouette represents the 50s, it would be something I would wear (and have worn!) nowadays, especially the headscarf!

This look is a man-killer. The headscarf is essential, and to die for. I do not understand why women are so reluctant to give the headscarf a try. Grace, Audrey, Jackie and Luis’ mother understood their allure. Alas, a lost art.

she´s my grandma and y never thought that in those days she would dress like in these days.I think that she changed a lot.The first time I saw this picture when they told me it was her i didn´t believe it.But I still think that she´s very pretty.
To tell the truth I love clothes,shoes etc…like her.I think she has dressed well even now but maybe a bit better before.

i wear the head scarf all the time, as your stunningly beautiful mother does in the photo. It was my favorite period of fashion, and yes i love the newe LV …that is all about that beautiful time.
