Vintage Photos

– Kym C.

If you missed my initial post, here are the instructions again.

- The subject line of the email should read “Vintage Photo”

- The photos will only be posted here on the blog, so the file size can be very small (no bigger than 700kb). I DO NOT need hi-res images, they take too long to download.

- Writing a little something about the image you send will make your entry much more interesting for all of us.

- Email your photos to: sartorialistvintagephotos@gmail.com

This is such an abstract-looking photo!!! It’s kind of baffling, especially because they look so similar and wear such funny smirks. The side-parted hair is wonderful, and I think the socks are just the perfect finishing touch. It’s kind of almost gothic? Wonderful.

Love the window pane plaid suit with argyle socks–and can’t help but notice that the right figure is the same guy as the left one (a high school photo class trick perhaps?)

I don’t know much about photography, but I know in old group photos you would sometimes see the same person on both sides of the group – sides of the negative were exposed at different times? The person would run around and be captured a second time. This is really interesting. These vintage photos make me SO jealous that I don’t have any cool fashion-y vintage photos other than perhaps my grandparents’ wedding photo from ’45.

Love the elegance and regal feel of the photo. Lately, men have been sporting similar looks. Hooray for getting back to the basics!

Adore this photo…because you really aren’t sure about what the feeling is for them…are they happy? Are they being a bit dark? Are they even friends?

hi you got to shoot some serious actors like jon hamm..not that celebrity photographer but more of a photographer with a sartorial view…keep the that swag or the body under your lens..make it strong…then bless the world by printing it off. please…we shall love you more.

They are twins, playing cards, sitting on the floor!! I am with everyone and would love to know the story, but I guess we will have to make up our own. I suspect its a double exposure. But I am not certain. Either way its eerie, and very cool.

I am so intrigued because these twins look exactly like a friend of mine… in fact i sent him the link to this photo and he absolutely cannot believe it. He thought I had increased my photoshop skills till he realised this website is american based even…

I so truly wish there was more known about this photo as I am sure he wants to research the time and the names of the twins etc etc… Unbelievable !!!!
