The shirt says : Maitre nageur (master swimmer), so this picture was taken in a seaside town in France. It reminds me of J. Tati’s movie
les Vacances de Mr Hulot.
Old will always remain to be gold and the guy in the pictures is dressed in the old fashioned way to remind us where we are coming from. It is as if he is having his own moments and that photo came out perfectly well.
What was this guy up to with that outfit or maybe he was going for fitting class? Whatever he was up to is between him and his God but the photo come out perfectly well, l love it.
^ ‘Nice pic!’ Please, what kind of comment is that? Take an actual look at the photo and tell us your impression. What’s the story on this gentleman? The romance of his profession at that period? ‘Nice pic’…..jeeesh.
He has a great body! I love the shoes and the hat, the little cabin. It just makes you wish you were there and then. Its interesting how these photos make me feel nostalgic for places i know nothing about.

The proper translation would be “lifeguard” rather than “master swimmer”. Otherwise you’re correct!

Sorry Sevan but you are lost in time!

This is the only way to sit and feel secure on beam without any other support point, keeping hands free. Try yourself.

My father remembers swimsuits from that era made of wool – impossibly heavy when wet!
