Today was a very good day of menswear shows in Milano. It started early (very early) at Bottega Veneta and just ended at Prada with stops at Ferragamo, Ferre, and Moncler along the way.
Bottega Veneta was so strong: the color options, the focus on sportswear, and the casting of masculine, virile models.
I’m very curious about where the prices will come in on this collection. Even though the design details are fantastic, I don’t want to spend a ton of money on cargo shorts.

a lot of times the clothes from fashion shows is unwearable, but this is just great.casual, simple!

Yeah, real men, not those boys that they call male models these days. I really prefer these guys.
While I really like Bottega Venetas stuff, I think they are way to expensive.

very ruged and tough but sophisticated and interesting details and the colors enhance that, also yey for the casting choice makes the clothes look alive

I like the adventurous, Ernest Hemingway quality to this collection. The first guy looks different from the rest, less polished, but all the models are white. Really the fashion world needs to get with it and bring some real world variety to their models. It gets a little boring….

That's a good point you make Scott, about price point for this collection. I can see people shelling out for jackets of this type, but even with the BV name, shorts are not exactly investment pieces.

Awesome collection . Contrasting this with your previous post on prada's men collection – it does look like a case of Men Vs Boys. BV is kicking Prada's ass :) …. The prices are going to be insane though

More of these real men! Not loving the strange rust coloured outfit with the bare midriff or the Hans-the-1977-tourist leather short shorts, but what an interesting show overall, discernably different from the rest.

holy moly!!! this is what a real man looks like—hoping this trend will evolve….of course a lean muscular 40L or a "curvy" 5' 10'' size 4 still encompasses about 1% of the population. But its nice to see more flesh than bone. Yummy.

to preface myself, as a woman, i do not follow fashion shows closely. so to me, it is very interesting to see the differences between men models in bottega veneta and dolce and gabanna, and burberry and prada. muscular, tan men vs. skinny, pale-ish men. i realize there is a theme in each show but i've never seen such stark variety in women body types as in these men fashion shows. do we give men a wider range of "ideal"?
