I was also recently named #20 on The Guardian’s list of The World’s 50 Most Powerful Blogs Ditto everything I just said above but in an English accent.
Congratulation to the attention mr Schuman! It is well deserved. However I would like to make a suggestion, not so much to you but to the people posting comments on your blog. Maybe it sounds really pretentious, but I would really like to see more comments that are a little analytical. Less of “wow, she’s cute” and “I need those shoes”, and more of “Her style really fits her because…” or ”Those shoes reminds me of…” I am sure the people that come here has a lot of valuable thoughts and so that would make the comments much more interesting to read. No?
Congratulations Scott! Like many others have said, you have certainly earned these honors.
I have to commend you specifically on the fact that although your blog has spawned numerous copycat blogs around the globe, your talent and sartorial eye has managed to ensure that you have remained head and shoulders above the rest.
You have managed to find an element of fashion that, although deserving of recognition, has been absent from mainstream fashion publications; that is, how stylish people wear clothes in everyday life. This revelation is evident in, not only your monthly page in GQ, but in the recent fashion shoots that magazines have commissioned you for (including the recent Paris Vogue supplement).
I have to admit that I do not read many blogs, and no others with any regularity, but I am no less confident in saying that you undoubtedly deserve the regard you have been receiving.
WOW, 3 million…congratulations, Scott! Your blog accomplishes exactly what a blog should – bringing exceptional talent to a general audience and inspiring us all on a very human level.
Sart, congratulations!! Those are 2 big honors to have, and 70,000 viewers a day? It’s unbelievable really. I was so excited to meet you at the NY gallery opening some months ago — and I hope you never let all the kudos go to your head and start changing your work…
i’ve been reading your blog for about a year now on a daily basis, and I’ve got to say that it’s my daily dose of creativity and individuality. i love love love this blog. Thanks so much for all your beautiful photos; they never fail to inspire me. Congratulations!!!
wow !! congratulations !! the simplicity, the content and your personality ; unique combination. I honestly take your comments on some photos as good advice. you deserved the credit :)
Congratulations. It is nothing less than you deserve. Your dedication to the simplicity of the idea, while maintaining your incredibly high standards, is really inspiring.
Sart you are unique, I voted and gave you 10 out of 10! However, you only have 300 odd votes, so I think you need to rally the troops and post a voting request like all of the other bloggers nominated.
I’m totally in love with your blog….it’s awesome! I’ve just started to show it to all my friends! you’re awesome picking these photos…of all these soooo stylish people. Thank you very much, some times I dress up like the girls in your photos. they inspire me…Thank you for you job and for sharing it with us.
I appreaciate your wide spectrum and the mostly neutral and tolerant position you share with us. + the quality of your photos is great, + you are much more open towards the meanings of fashion than most of us and this unifies the different cultures, trends, styles. + your blog is about individuality, not about money, buying power, labels. Everybody can find inspiration here. So, congratulions! You have a reason to be proud of you. cheers!
Congratulations with your place on the blog-index. When I saw your title amidst the other titles, I found your typeface playful, but dignified because of the simplicity. I hope you keep it that way.
Congratulations Mr. Schuman! I love how your way of taking photos has changed over the years (gosh!) and has become more and more simple, condensed to the core and minimized. Thank you for blogging, you give me inspiration. Take care, Barty Nova from Berlin
Wow, great job Scott! Your concept is simple, but so striking that it makes every visitor come back for more. My favorite blog by far. The photography is very inspiring to me, especially since I am in a photojournalism class. Your technique and subjects are fantastic.
You really have changed my life. I don’t grab the old t-shirt and boring jeans anymore. All thanks to you. You’re making the world a more interesting place….little by little. Every detail counts.
Congratulations, Scott! I’m not surprised you’re on all these lists – you’re my daily read everyday 1st thing I get online. Sometimes I get distracted from homework too but it’s always inspiring. Keep it up!
Yay well done! i love your blog and i’d definitely smile for you! congratulations x p.s – don’t you love their ‘least likely to post’ suggestion? hahaha!
Congratulations! The recognition is well-deserved. This site has truly changed the way I view fashion. Every single photograph is an inspirational piece of art.
It’s a pleasure too to have watched Sart’s increase in technical skill and see how better tools have helped his vision reach another level. It’s always good to see good people get even better.
Why do I get the feeling, day-after-day, that all one has to do is come up with a randomly-selected, frequently outlandish, combination of clothes to merit a photo on this blog?
How wonderful. Congratulations. I’m Irish and have been reading your blog religiously for about a year now. I lived in Manhattan last summer and would walk the streets with the dream of bumping into the famous Sartorialist! Thanks and well done.
Congratulations…. I don’t comment much but am an avid reader…it was an honour to be in the same Guardian list as you…albeit at a much lower position of course!
Congratulations! I’ve always loved your blog, and though I lurk most of the time, I find most of my inspirations from it. It gave me some kinduva confidence to try things outside my “normal” comfort zone.
Thank you, and CONGRATULATIONS because you Definitely DESERVE it.
congrats and here’s to more of the same, continued success. Eyes on the prize man, eyes on the prize! In the www world the cream is rising to the top, thanks to the great big editor in cyberspace or maybe the sinister spidery googlebot, haha, anyway, in your case, it’s working out very well. Honestly – I have no time for blogs with self-indulgent irrelevancies, I have no idea who does. But due to your dedicated vision, I not only have time for The Sartorialist, I have to have time or I’m out of touch! Best best best to you, keep it up.
