This is fantastic!!!! Thank you for these interviews. He is one of my favourite photographers! There was an exhibition of his work in Dublin about 1-2 years ago and i went to see it 3 times…so captivating…the colours, the faces, the stories, finding beauty even in difficult conditions…his photos stay in your mind
Long before I picked up a camera I was intrigued by Steve’s images, I was a young girl when I discovered Steve’s photography and always wondered about the people he captured. I always valued an image that stirred and provoked emotions.
As my interest in grew, from an observer and one that appreciated photography on to an aspiring portrait photographer, Scott’s photography inspired me in a big way and gave me courage to fearlessly pursue a passion. The way that he viewed his surroundings/the world and captured individuals is a great inspiration to me.
Today, both artists are a both similar and parallels in portrait photography, ultimately both are huge influences to me, not just in style but in approach and method.
I can’t thank you enough for putting this together. I wish the series was longer, I can tell from these clips there’s a lot to be drawn. Thank you.
Now that is good viewing.
It is encouraging to watch you take advantage of your site by sharing multiple forms media. We all come here for your images; sharing your inspiration through video allows us to see your process.
Once again, another reason you were a part of my inspiration to start writing, speaking with others about their process and inspiration, then sharing it. Sharing so people can be inspired to express through their creative outlets.
Your brands aesthetic is growing richly.
Stay true. We know you will.
Thank you for doing this interview. It is so interesting to hear about how both of you see your work! Yours and his photos are so inspirational and I do think they capture this time we are living through the people who are living it – which gives the photos longevity beyond our times.
Really great interviews, Scott. It’s rare that you find an interviewer and interviewee experienced enough to ask the right questions and have a meaningful conversation about the answers. Lots of insight from both of you; thanks a billion.
This is so amazing! I learnt so much about photography in just 3 minutes. I’ll admit I didn’t really know who Steve McCurry is (although I’ve heard his name before) so thanks for introducing him to me! Gonna go check out his work now…
