It only comes out twice a year, but it’s one of my favorite magazines to pick up from the newsstand.

Full disclosure: Justin wasn’t as impressed as I usually am, but I had to tell him that this issue wasn’t as strong as I’ve seen in the past.  The editorials are strong, and their choice of subject matter is always interesting. I like that they take chances (i.e. the current dog issue). To me, it’s not as fully developed a voice as Fantastic Man, but it’s the independent magazine that I’m most curious to see evolve.

You’ll notice that Man About Town is way less text heavy than the other magazines in this series.  Not saying that’s good or bad, but it’s worth noting how imagery is really powering content, and we all know how much I love good photography.

hmm, image is powering content….good and bad. In a way aren’t we going back to cave painting communication? I thought writing and mining verbal content was evolution….food for thought in an image saturated world…and I say that even though I am an artist too

Under the first layer is visible the issue with Cillian Murphy. I regrettably didn’t buy this issue but that cover and the inside photographs were the most stunning and beautifu and earthy I’ve yet seen of this gifted actor.
