Wow, never thought I would be the first comment here, it’s a pleasure!!
The first guy is so charming, italian is a beautiful language. I can speak other latin languages so I understand a lot, but never all of it!! Love the short film, the black and white, the music, your style.
Thank you, it was beautiful to see a little culture and style in 3 minutes, to listen to them. Some of them sould write a book about the job!!
OH! It would be such a pleasure to have you visiting my blog some time, I love it when experienced bloggers tell me their honest opinions”. Thanks.
Fantastic video, thank you for sharing! BUT… I must say, it would only be fair not only to list the producer and the director in the titles but also the DOP (director of photography). Especially when something is as beautifully done as this. :)
I loved everything about this video! Absolutely everything, and the music really set the mood. :-D Also, my father would enjoy this video since he drives business execs around (in London/UK) and says the exact same things as these gentleman. :-)
I really really really love everything abour this video, Scott & Camila!
There is a certain vibe and groove that really transform the whole interviews into something whole and enjoyable! I love that in this two episodes ITALIAN is the language, it sounds so beautiful, so romantic but so crazy at the same time. and your choice of Black and White is just so magnificent. I think it is really the best decision to put everything only int these two colors. I just LOVE it and thanks for all the efforts!
Please please keep these videos coming!
They are so wonderfully done: great music, impeccable images, good questions… and the black and white. Great great great!
I especially love:
1) the “attititude” of the “eye” behind the camera: full of authentic curiosity and with an open mind;
2) the focus on the often “forgetten” players of fashion – they end up looking as glamorous and confident and sympatehtic (if not much more) than the usual players under the spotlight.
It’s such a shame that there are some people who are privileged enough to be able to hire taxis in iconic cities but take it all for granted and forget to admire the monuments and scenery along the way and don’t think to engage the driver for just even a moment’s observation and reflection……this video is a subtle reminder not to lose ones appreciation of the world and of services provided by others.
I usually don’t comment, but this deserves praise. The photography, the montage, the pacing, the interviews, the people, the music, the choice of black and white, everything works beautifully; and elevates the consensus reality of a driver’s line of work and private life. If that isn’t art, I don’t know what is.
this film is funny, insightful, moving, beautiful, humble and deep…. j’adore… such an intuitive simple and elegant way to change the flow of conversation about fashion… scott you are such an inspiration!!!! thanks for being who you are.
I think this might be my favourite ‘Sartorialist short film! A driver is someone you must trust and treat like family, especially since they know so many secrets. The most famous driver being Karl Lagerfeld’s right hand man; would be interesting to have a conversation with him!
Bellissimo! You really are able to catch the most beautiful features of us Italians… fashion means everything in our lives because it’s an art and by living in this beautiful country you’d see art around yourself being an artist, a designer, a driver… Complimenti! Carlotta
This is fantastic. When you think of fashion week, you think of the latest and greatest men’s and women’s clothes but it is so much more than that. So many more people are involved than we think of. Thanks for shedding light.
I work for a Danish limousine Company based in Copenhagen, and it is great to see how this video in 3 minutes shows so many true aspects of our dailey life. And its true what theese collegues are saying….but the job is fantastic and not two days are the same :-)
