Fashion Week starts this morning.
It’s rainy, and cloudy, and cool. Â If this weather holds out for the next week, summer is definitely over for me; I won’t be back in New York until October.
I’m so ready to start layering and wearing something other than Converse and shorts. Â Wearing grown man pants again! Â Having fun with fall fashion!
I hope you had a great summer. Â Let’s do it again next year.

Love summer too! Sad it’s over in NY!
Can’t wait to wear new fall acquisitions, but in Barcelona it’s still hot and humid. School starts next week so then summer will be officially over.
Great way to carry your “companion” on your bike!

The Summer is over, and as you say it is time to wear man pants again…that’s right, and sportcoats and sweaters and thicker wool suits and many other great garments!

Although I sniff as I wave a final goodbye away to summer, I feel like i’m turning around and dacing joyously around the house because I can FINALLY start wearing my fall wardrobe. Hellooooo fall.

This made me laugh. The Sartorialist version of Mae West sashaying up a flight of stairs with “The End” superimposed over her be-hind.
But, yes, the end of summer is always a poignant moment. In my city, the arrival of Fall for those not involved in the “back to school” rush is the start of the Toronto International Film Festival.

Ha ha! Literally – the end!
Except for those of us trapped in the heat of Southern California. Hello Fire Season! It was actually too hot for the beach yesterday… Won’t be wearing Fall for FNO tonight, that’s for sure…

in new york, the rain has poured for days, the clouds and the heavens lamenting some torrid loss we cannot understand. the touch of gentle skin in the wind is discard, for the layers of the unknown future months.

It’s always hard to say goodbye to summer, but what a better excuse for that than saying hello to the new autumn/ winter fashion collections?
Let’s see what the fashion weeks around the world have prepared for us! :-)

I hate to see summer go and I hate the thought of “layering” all those clothes. Yep they look nicer, but I still love wearing my shorts and sandals. I love the freedom that summer brings in so many ways, clothing or otherwise. I’m already counting the days ’til spring!

In South Africa our summer is only starting now. We had an ice cold winter – couldn’t even wear my lovely winter jackets, it was too cold. But I am very much looking forward to the summer (and the thunder storms), although it is always sunny in central South Africa.

Goodbye Summer. Happy Fall to all. That rhymes. I didn’t know Scott wore short shorts.I thought dudes kind of kept to regular length shorts or longer. Do men wear them in Europe or something?

I’ve got to say this is one of the finest photos you’ve ever taken. The way she is riding perfectly balanced with the surf board to one side, her bottom half of the bikini just showing, then a hat. It’s startling and evocative of summer ending, all at the same time. And of course, the lovely pun on “the end.” Well done.
