Professor or not, I could learn a few things from this man about personal style.

Huh, what does he teach? Does not look like a fashion professor…or is he?
    Ok, style to my taste…

The electric colours on the V-neck sweater are beautiful. Wow! Especially against the dark jacket, yes yes…

None of his look could possible work without that BEAUTIFUL mane of silver grey….so envious. Watch out Anderson Cooper!

he looks great but, just for the sake of accuracy; the coolest professor ever was – obviously – art garfunkel in nic roeg’s ‘bad timing’ one of the most stylish films ever – there’s a month of features in nic roeg for the sartorialist: ‘performance’, ‘the man who fell to earth’… there; a modest suggestion…

This is (Prof.) Hirofumi Kurino from United Arrows. He is one of the most powerful men in the Japanese fashion business.

Love the patterns, but it’s his cool attitude that gives him such panache…

    Yup, he’s got it together.

Funny–we assume that a teacher has little regard for or interest in what he or she wears. So do we cut that person extra slack when he or she shows some fashion savvy?

Just Perfect. Everything about this look. He doesn’t have that “boxy wool suit” air that most of my professors did. It’s casual, and unpredictable for a professor. I love it. The colors are amazing.

Physics. He teaches solid state physics. Ok, not really, but I can’t help but think I would have learned A LOT more if I had a physics professor like this one! Sharp!!

This is a professorial look, but this guy isn’t a prof, right? Someone else said it already, he’s a fashion exec.

I have a handsome friend who dresses like this, but he’s a librarian, not a professor. But yes, he’s blessed with beautiful silver hair.

Only in Paris. I go to university in a little swedish town where the professors are so bad dress It makes my eyes hurt.

As a prof, I wish I looked this cool. What was the jacket’s material – it looks real thick, almost looks like a sweater, too.

I also dig the WWII-ish style chinos. They also look thick and substantial.

or perhaps some combination of the three.

I like his style. It is personal.ageless and yet so stylish. It looks so easy- as if he just grabbed it from his closet and never made a big issue of what to wear. But I do think he could visit a hairdresser.

at first glance I disagreed with you, having spent the past three years working in at a university. ….but upon a much closer look: you are right. A+ for this professor.

I think good pictures are abound in your blog but this, like the “English girl in Paris”, speaks to me in terms of colour contrast. His grey hair brings life and contrast to the grey walls. His outfit with what I see as primary colours is intellectually stimulating. The epitome of learning embodied in one man, his dress sense and the background.

I love the sexy geek look. Can I stay after class so prof can go over those complicated concepts one more time, very very slowly? You know I’d do anything for an A…
