The sharp greys make for a striking, powerful look. The frames are subtle, yet push the effect too far, into an austere “metallic” territory. The graying of his hair seems to enhance the look, but the clothes would really help warm up the skin/hair tones if it weren’t for that fact (or maybe it’s just the picture; background looks a bit bleak).

The jacket and pants look slightly billowy, and make him look thicker around the waist in this photo than I suspect he really is. The wrinkles in the sleeve and pants don’t help. I can’t imagine that this outfit is truly playing down any shortcomings in his figure, or for that matter, playing up any strengths.

This is all nitpicking, his overall look is balanced and tasteful.

Lastly, a minor detail: the jacket buttons. For a second I thought glossy black might work better, given the umbrella (side note: a silver umbrella handle would be overkill). The marbled brown/tan helps balance the warmth of his skin with the starkness of the outfit, though.
