I love it. Clean, crisp, well tailored, and yet they way he wears it makes me think Fila. His great smile and hair compliment the look as well. I could see him eating strawberries at Wimbledon or downing a few pints at the pitch.
I really want to see what kind of shoes he is wearing.
I love this man– what a brilliant smile. Is he remaking a conventional blazer into some kind of freaky Nehru thing? Complete with some ascot-y accent? Interesting! as is the fan (I think?) in his hand. The pants seem unconsidered though…
I love that look. Not sure why I do! The proportions are right. The color is brilliant. The jacket suits him really well, and most of all, he looks happy wearing it. This reminds me that clothes should make us (or at least me) happy, without trying too hard because then it becomes work. :)
Mr. Useless: I wonder if you’re right. I always thought the lapel hole was to be used for ornaments of some kind of another: flowers, pocket-watch chains, etc. Is it true that they were once actually functional in that way?
Unfortunately, Nehru jacket or suit fall into something I call the novelty suit category, and as such veers towards the unacceptable.
While on paper a Western twist on the oriental may sound like good idea, in reality it ends up like a badly mismatched hybrid of Western tailoring and Oriental exoticism.
In this particular case, it seems like he doctored a ‘standard’ jacket to look this way, which in my humble opinion looks even worse than your run of the mill Nehru jacket. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, comes to mind.
this jacket is actually a masterpiece. reminds me that i was always looking for one with a straight lapel so that you can actually close it like he does. enhanced functionality and back to the roots at the same time. – a true classic. – i need one. thasnks.
I’m surprised no one has noticed the military feel of the jacket being worn this way. I over looked it, but I think its because of the way he is smiling and his posture. This jacket looks very much like a naval dress jacket or marine corps dress coat.
This shot raised my mood level by about 1 million percent…such an incredible shot! This is sublime. Sart, what a work of art. Thank you for making me happy today with your art work and your ability to capture heart via a photograph. Sheer joyfulness. Do you know anything about him? His inner beauty is so engaging. I was wondering what he does for a living. xoxoxo
this reminds me of the Indian Sherwani cut… high neck collar.. and clean cut.. and this color is experimentative too..I like it! Just wish he would have tried it with some other pants…may be a slimmer fit
The jacket is almost the same shade of his beautiful blue eyes. His smile is genuine, which makes him seem like a lovely person. I love the Nehru style color and button details and paired with the subtle color pants, and the scarf. It looks fun, but chic and not overdone, like him.
Sart, I love the all the styles and people that you capture.
BTW, that is my favorite blue. What is the exact color called?
Hello! This guy is seasoned and probably would not know a smurf if one ran up and bit him… Unfortunately, again I see many making judgement calls and impuning comments simply because they themselves most likely hav'nt the understanding of nor have been on the planet long enough to appropriate such style for themselves! The fact is the guy is sharp and must (will) be given his due by those among us who truly understand male adornment and the peacock aspects of such. Young pups take note… women love color and respect men who wear it well and unabashedly. I would do this outfit but leave the bottom button open.
