On men? Oh how I love when designers make crap to display that they will sell 3 of…or maybe more, but yet they will be gifts from somebody who think they are stylish..and will never ever be worn…like the Bunny suit in A Christmas Story.

All nice runway numbers, but the one that I really can imagine seeing on the street is the Ferragamo. I think it would look great!

As a man I do like capes and I wear them : they are timeless and elegant. Although I realise I make a fashionstatement by wearing them now in winter, most people do like it. Actually I never met one who did not like it. But I use the classical full circle black woolen ankle length italian tabarro or a dark blue woolen knee length 3/4 circle army officers cape. Ofcourse I try to pay attention to other fashion accesoires to combine it well. So far it goes well. Both capes I use are timeless and neutral. Fashionhouses try to bring it back in fashion. The best examples of the restyled capes for men are – if you ask my opinion – the ones from Dolce & Gabbana as shown in the Paris Fashion Show january 2012. From the shown examples here on this page I do like the Yves Saint Laurent for young men who like to combine a cape with a casual style and the Valentino example which seems to go more for the more classic way of dressing. The Ferragamo is too much a poncho which I do not like and the Moncler Gamme Bleu whole combination is not my taste at all. I think you look ridiculous that way, but do call me oldfashioned. None of the new designed and restyled capes can however – according to my opinion – compete with the tabarro’s of Tabarrifico Veneto or the capas Espanolas from the house of Sesena in Madrid. Capes for men need to be long and wide. (knee-length or ankle length / half or full circle) These houses follow this trend. It deserves effort however to search for nice combinations (casual, contemporal and classic) which go well with the mancape. The European fashiondesigners can explore on this territory a lot more. A good example are the combinations of A. Tautz shown in the London Fashion Show of last year. Some other good examples ( they are hardly available for men I admit )you can find here :
