Robert Geller could be one of the most interesting men’s shows during New York Fashion Week.
The most fascinating aspect to Robert Geller’s collection this season is his unique approach to layering. For instance, in the seventh photo, he’s layered a red striped knit over a polka dot shirt and a wool knit mesh jersey. He’s also managed to combine horizontal and vertical striping in a seamless way.
In another example, the quilted coat styled underneath the belted cardigan, he has almost created a singular coat by using two seemingly separate pieces.

Apologies for a potentially stupid question, but all the guys in the front row in the background seem to be rather fixated on their smartphones, many taking pictures. Is that very common at these events? It seems so strange to me.

I am not a menswear expert, however, I would agree that this seems to be the most inspirational show that I have viewed from the NY menswear shows….

The hats worn in this collection are similar to but not as nice as the deconstructed fedoras you have photographed mostly on older Italian guys. If this question makes sense, do you have a source for such a hat? Thanks.

Reminiscent of WWI era, but in an almost whimsical way. Even the hats resemble that specific helmet shape. Love it.

Love the combinations of colour, tone, texture and layers! Sumptuous looking, stylish and contemporary. Makes me wish – about the only time ever – that I was a bloke (that’s Australian for ‘guy’ or ‘man’). Ciao, L.

Some of those first pieces feel very film noir-detective and seem to evoke the a outlines of a cowpoke…

This show reminds me what I often think about many womens’ shows.
The designer is trying to show-off as many pieces as they can and would
not expect the average consumer to put together outfits like those seen on the runway.
How many of us can show up at work in such fashion forward attire?
Any one or two of these items would raise the fashion bar in most mens’ closets.
Hope I can get a few.
