The other week at the office I hung off the side of the Panerai boat Eilean shooting the Panerai Vele d’Epoca Classic Boat Challenge!

I’m no daredevil and I really thought I would just stay in a safe zone and do a few shots but once the race started I really lost myself to the moment and ended up in positions I never would have found myself in if it weren’t for the camera.

It was an amazing experience and a few weeks later I still find myself thinking about how much fun the racing was. I didn’t know much about the Vele d’Epoca before shooting this project, but I have to say the experience of being on the beautiful boat, racing through the blue waters with waves crashing around you, I can see how one could easily become addicted to the rush and the beauty of it all.

Thanks Panerai and Captain Andy !! I can’t wait to do another!!

Don’t you just love eye-opening experiences? The unexpected reaction jumps up and hits you in the face and you learn something new about yourself.

Oh, what an experience! I used to go with friends on their sailboat during races. It is so thrilling and beautiful at the same time, especially when a brightly colored spinnaker goes up as the sun is setting! XO Janea

Coincidentally, a friend yesterday sent me some Danish expressions. According to another Danish friend this one is from the extent one must go to at times for sail position when sailing, and apparently when photographing:
“having your bum in the water
means you are stuck in some uncomfortable position
    have røven i vandskorpen
