Jil Sander/Raf Simons (I just hope he’s still there), Prada/Miu Miu, and Rick Owens for me.
And I just wanted to mention that when you announced that you were going to cover the women’s collections, I got chills of glee. I can’t wait!

Of course Ralph Lauren, but I am also excited about Chanel (Karl needs to start bringing out some vintage textile prints – the archive is amazing!) and also looking forward to Yves St. Laurent and McQueen.

Dear Sartorialist,
no matter what you do, do not upgrade to the beta blogger. Since doing so, my blog has been a mess, and I haven’t been able to upload pics in ages.

I love Ghesquiere’s take on Balenciaga. Chanel, Jil Sander, Bottega, Hermes. Not really into the NY shows: de la Renta and Jacobs are fab.

HELP! Getting married next Friday and no dress (long story…). Any ideas where I can get a dress off the rack? This is a very casual wedding, so any white-cream-ivory dress would be ok, knee-length is actually preferred. Sorry – I know that’s not what this blog is about but I thought maybe you fashion experts might have a clue. Thanks!

It’ll be interesting to see how Marc Jacobs et al translate the super-layered, voluminous looks from Fall 06 for Spring.

The collections that I will be eager to see…Chanel (liked the spring 06),Prada (to me Prada always bring you one step forward and yet still feel now, very easy to adapt),Marni (loved their fall collection, the loose pants and Marni’s colour combo is always interesting),Miu Miu (to see something young, quirky and chic), Alexander Mcqueen (always interesting to see his shows ;a great package…great clothes, great music, great settings)and Hussein Chalayan (just wanting to see what concept he will incorporate into his designs this time and how well it turns out)

Looking forward to Ruffian, Duckie Brown and Kai Kahune.
They all tend to get me into a frock coat frenzy each season.
Heatherette is always a secret favorite just for the amount of glitter used. I had no idea so much existed.
Good luck with the Suit!
Ever heard of Max Girombelli?
He made me a beautiful custom tuxedo. Check out http://www.ducausa.com

Wow
this is great guys, I’m so proud to have built a blog with such a well-informed and sophisticated audience audiences.
Personally I’m really looking forward to McQueen b/c every show has the possibility to take your breathe away. The same can be said for Dries Van Noten. It is sad not to have a Rochas show this season. I’m also looking forward to Marc Jacobs.
At his men’s LV show in June/July he was very hands off and overseeing the details so it will be interesting to see how he works with the womens collection differently.
During the shows I will love to hear what you think of the collections- I will do a post for the important collections, maybe we could do a numbering system or something to rate the collections.
My background is almost all womens. I worked at Valentino and owned my own showroom with designers like Peter Som and James Coviello. So my coverage of the womens shows I think will be a little more critical than the mens shows only because I have so much more experience in the every day workings of womens designer collections
thanks again guys, i love all the input!

Hi there!
I know I might be a little too late to ask you this, but have you seen the bag Patricia Field has designed for The Devil wears Prada movie?
What do you think?
I’m not sure I like it. I like the concept, the many-bags-in-one concept…
There some pics in my blog.

Dude, why has no one mentioned Pilati at YSL, he who single-handedly brought back the tulip skirt and cinched belts? Also, in menswear, always look forward to Lauren, Varvatos (who’s beginning to lose me) and Thom Browne (who I feel needs to show he’s more than a one-trick pony, Ã la Hedi Slimane)

- Very very very sad for the missing Rochas show:Olivier Theyskens is my opinion is unique and he is the only one to be considered as Valentino’dauphin….
- nobody mention the excellent Alber Elbaz for Lanvin……

Among the fall shows, my eye is on Martin Grant in particular–Dries next, Yohji, and hoping to see Dsquared match their Western-themed SS06 collection which I loved.
I’m excitedly looking forward to reading your posts–maybe I will develop a new taste. Following these posts, I have learned (or decided) a lot about how to dress, how to see & perhaps how to live. Keep doing what you do–thanks!

Wyeth by Todd Magill
Jenni Kayne
Sari Gueron
Me magazine cofounder Angel Chang’s premiere collection
I thought Tess Giberson did a really nice job with her first collection for TSE last season and would like to see what she does next…
Tsumori Chisato… I hope she gets covered here this season
Alena Akhmadullina
and definitely the better known shows too…
Lanvin and Chloe… are loves
Prada and Marc Jacobs… because you never know what to expect
Burberry Prorsum… I haven’t not liked a collection by Mr. Bailey
NYC faves Zac Posen and Proenza Schouler… (I just scored a pair of linen pants from their last collection at the Barney’s sale. I almost fainted when I looked inside. All of the seams have a Hong Kong finish, the construction is beautiful. And people wonder why designer clothes are so expensive… all that sewing bias is money people.)
