Japanese socks galore! The kind of flowers little children draw. Crazy shoes and models walking in socks. A bit somber a first, there was little colour in the collection. Small structured bags, almost like little baskets. Oh, and the sunglasses with flowers in them!
As I have said before; I love it when a designer takes us to a place through a collection and the presentation of a show. For me; watching the PRADA show was like watching a modern-meets-traditional Japanese black and white film. All the stenciled sakura flowers and origami folds of the fabric with those sock-like shoes (and Japanese clog-like shoes). There is an innocence laced with something sinister.
Mysterious Miuccia I love you!
Yes, Live-streaming is the future of viewing the shows :)
I am a shoe person and these ones blew me away, which leads me to question…what happened to the epik menswear this season???
In comparison the menswear collection was drab!
Wow. This first look just struck me! So beautiful and feminine yet with an edge.
The shoes are just something else entirely especially the ones worn with the socks – my grandparents will be pleased. http://untrucoudeux.wordpress.com/
Love the coats, but the rest I found too depressing…Flowers or not, red, black, and white are just too dreary (in my humble opinion!) for spring. Found this as stimulating as opening a deck of cards. I did enjoy the styling, and the photography was extremely well executed. Overall, just too dark for my liking…
What the FFFFF has happened to fashion, it has gotten so out of hand and irrelevant…
I can hardly stand to see fashion show’s anymore!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!
i feel the same. most designs are just a collage of other ideas which get more and more absurd looking and irrelevant with each season. that’s postmodernism for you.
A mind that thinks of this kind of beauty makes me want to examine it centimeter by centimeter and caress it and coo sweet little nothings with kisses.
she always moves the line…. she makes u think…it’s not a collection where u jump up and down…. but i love the reference to Warhol’s flowers on the furs…interesting pieces…hate the wigs…i am not a fan when the body is chopped up..
My 1st thought of the flowers on the fur was that they are in reference to Murakami. But then I looked at Warhol’s flowers and they are more like that. Thanks.
photo #1 is straight out classic 60′s brigitte bardot
photos # 2 & #8 are seriously messing with my scale and depth perception….beautiful compositions, i would like to see them in black and white prints
Love Prada but I am afraid I have to say this collection is a HUGE disappointment:(!
I wouldn’t buy and wear any of these.
Miuccia usually gets it right but when it goes wrong it’s unbelievably bad like this time.
Get the idea she is trying to sell but the collection is seriously ugly.
I was waiting for it with anticipation!
My daughter who adores Prada more than anyone else in Fashion could not finish watching it!!!!
It is so bad not even funny.
Can not express my disappointment!!!
Sooooo sad!!!
Different strokes for different folks. I’m not a fan of the use of the flowers. I think someone on Garance’s site mentioned the Marimekko Unikko print and I have to agree, it’s similar. The poppies remind me of Remembrance Day pins. Nothing wrong with that per se, I love Remembrance Day pins, but for Prada, I expect much, much more.
I feel horrible saying this, but Miucca Prada really let me down on this one. Maybe it was because of my high expectations (really loved previous seasons, especially FW 12/13) but I didn’t feel it… Some looks were okay to me, but I mostly felt ‘meh’ throughout the show. Of course this is just me, as I see everyones enthusiasm about the collection.
I’m more of a fall-wear gal anyway.
