the moment is perfect! it's like an contemporary version of a painting by a spanish master of the xvith century (down to his skirt and leg pose) bravo!
the circular pleating on the sleeves and her very tight top knotted hair add to the formal feel. her posture and the sharp line of the skirt, black & white, enhance this strict look.
the appeal of the photo is that it could be any designer and model, in any atelier, anywhere in the world.
Pablo Ramirez is without doubt the most prominent fashion designer from Argentina. I love his work. Glad to see a picture of him in this blog. Saludos! Sol :)
I'm excited to see this picture! I am happy when the Argentine design is recognized around the world! Thanks Scott! Excellent Image! I hope you return to Buens Aires =)
My favourite image for a long time. Glorious light, and a painterly quality. I love the silhouettes, the dynamism and movement in his figure, and the sculpted-by-light quality of hers. Sublime.
i find high waisted clothing often look dated with a thick waist band as the school uniform was in that style, we called it the nun dress. but the contemporary take is amazing
That outfit is divine! I love the the lines, I love the sleeves of the blouse, I love the LOOOOOONG skirt! I can't wait to see the rest of the collection!
Wow, this is so lovely and timeless. His boots are ahhhmazing. And I'm pretty sure he's wearing an apron, not a skirt. Probably more useful for holding pins and other notions.
Lovely: the designer at work with the model…the large white sleeves and the long, high-waisted black skirt are reminiscent of costumes from a movie "The Governess" (set in 1930's – starring Minnie Driver and Jonathan Rhys Meyers).
I love this photograph, incredible natural backlighting. I am somewhat reminded of Oscar De la Renta, but Pablo has his very own unique style. His model looks like royalty. Love the black and white. Or is it Navy? Love it, very old world feel.
