Absolutely. And its a matter of you wearing the clothes rather than the clothes wearing you. And I find the rich milk chocolate-colored boots against the light grey wool pants irresistable — and of course everything fits him perfectly.

Love the colors navy blue, grey and brown I think always work well together. I wish we had a better angle on the footwear.

I was originally taken in by the combination of grey wool & herringbone and then those beautiful brown suede boots put me over the edge. So smart & effortless looking!!!

Wearing "tweed" is irressitible, so rough and comfy at the same time. Love the wrinkles too, and the intelligent smile in his face.

i hate to talk about race usually but i have to say i'm very proud that so many of these well-dressed gentlemen you have captured at pitti uomo the last few weeks have been asian. especially in north america, asians are hardly ever featured in the media regardless of their talents, so it's fantastic that here on the sartorialist, STYLE is the determining factor in whether somebody gets "airtime." these stylish men just happen to be asian and so they are featured here. awesome:)

and because of this lack of asian personalities in the media, it is wonderful to see what looks good on us. when i was younger, i would try to dress the way white or black people dressed because that was all i saw in the media. sometimes it worked, often times it did not. not to mention the complex it created in me, only seeing beautiful white people growing up and thinking that i'm not attractive and less desirable because i'm asian. i've since gotten past that but it's still great to see what works and what doesn't work on us (how colours and different cuts work with our skin tone, builds, etc.).

so thanks scott! i hope the rest of the fashion world as well the larger world of media and entertainment will follow in your footsteps someday soon.

In the first photo, the way the jacket catches the light (and the shadows) is very interesting, making the jacket look like it's two tone, perhaps a reflection from the background and his pants.

I love everything the gentleman is wearing. In fact, I would mug him for his houndstooth blazer although I'm sure he would deploy his magnificent martial arts skills and beat me to a pulp.

I have but a minor concern which otherwise addressed would have pleased the Gods, I'm sure. Patched side pockets on a blazer should be complemented with a breast pocket that is also patched.

Sleeve buttons undone, large houndstooth detail, perfect fit… good work. He must have shelled out a trillion dollars on the ensemble.

Hey I wear this combination all the time to work (court,)!!! As a an alternative I wear my blue herringbone jacket with my brown flannel trousers. ties are not essential ( not even in Court!!) The grey / grey works well with a white shirt and a dark grey cashmere v neck and the blue/brown with light blue shirt and navy v neck. However the shoes/ boots MUST be dark brown.

I disagree about supposedly mismatched jacket and trousers, are you kidding me? Same colors, different patterns attribute to that je-ne-sais-quoi he has. He's someone who appreciates subtle variances, colors, materials, textures. I'd say he's a sensualist, someone with savoir-vivre, no hedonist. Very classy, affable person.

It's an extralight cashmere knitted scarf by Chauncey. Belgian brand, mostly distributed in Japan. I've got it in grey…

This is something I noticed almost immediately upon my first visit to Europe. The older gentleman and ladies have a timeless but updated elegance about them. Notice the fit of his suit and the small details but he is easily in his 60's at a time when most American men are wearing over-sized and outdated suits or even worse tennis shoes.

Very well done! True beauty in colors and textures. The flannel pants contrast well with the herringbone blazer, and keeps the look from being stiff or looking overdressed.

Besides, I think just a few colors will get you very far style-wise: White, gray, navy, ivory, brown, and a little black. Most combinations of these colors will look good together and be very easy to the eye.
