great shot! I love the way he is bundled up. That rock/brick wall background is fabulous. I love how his shoes match the background and everything else he is wearing is such a contrast. I like his glasses also! Very stylish gentleman.
I enjoy this blog immensely, but I’m most enchanted by your photos of older subjects. There’s so much character in both their faces and the clothing they choose.
This man, for example, is looking as though he’s emerging from a cave to speak wise and important words to the rest of us. His is not an image easily overlooked, or forgotten.
Nothing wrong with youth–it’s beautiful, really–but ever so slightly generic.
Love this photograph. I can’t decide if this blog is about personal style or photography. The art of the photos has racheted up recently; you are doing a great job. My focus in this one is the repetition of brown splotches, his glasses and the stones behind him, secondarily, his boots. He has a Michaelangelo aura; he could be the man or his sculpture. Love it.
The simplicity of it all is so chic The glass and shoes are obviously marvelous, but that he paired them so cautiously with understated pieces speaks volumes for his personal style. And the beard and hair are brilliant. Love this look.
The coat is designed by Umit Benan from his FA09 debut collection. I met him at the Pitti show and fell in love with the line. The coat is inspired by a shot of James Dean walking down Broadway. Amazing shot!
Fabulous photo – What stick’s out first are his boots with that vintaged Paul Harnden appeal – which completely marries the background – subtle insecurity in him delicately glazed with smokey grey coolness.
Why do Italians look better than anyone else? Everything they make is beautiful. Everything they say sounds wonderful. Everything they wear is perfect. And Italy doesn’t even have a government!
