On the Street…..What Was I Shooting? Paris

11913scott5223web

I don’t remember what I was shooting but I love how my assistant Camilla caught the line of my skinny Gap jeans and slim Aspesi coat,  and sleek New Balance sneaks (all Navy color(?)).

I do remember it was early Sunday morning in Paris and this felt the perfect thing to wear.

Ah, New Balance. Just bought a great new pair, not for running (although their minimist shoes are t.d.f.)..nope, they are gray suede, very flat thin soles and piecing that looks like a bowling shoe. btw: Like the pic.

I don’t know what you were shooting but I do love how you thinly veil product placement as a legitimate post (paid for(?)).

I do respect the hustle and this is the perfect way to do it.

what exactly is the product placement? you think i called all those brands I mentioned?
too bad people cant just be honest and talk about clothes anymore.

I think he was referring to the ‘name dropping’ of the brands of clothing.

Yeah I agree the “Gap” jeans, rather than just skinny navy jeans etc etc, I noticed that and first impression was product placement…

Pleased to see you wearing NB, I love mine (a pair grey and a pair navy of 993) but I never knew if it’s acceptable to wear them not for running.

Sometimes it’s nice to engage the shooter shooting…this should happen more often. It is nice to see what you are wearing sometimes.

Sneakers are more fashionable than ever to wear outside of the gym. My feet are very thankful after wearing Army boots for so many years for Uncle Sam.

I’m turning into a sneakerhead (still love my wingtips though). Been looking for a pair of New Balance myself (574 or 576). Other brands that still make great stylish and comfortable old school kicks are 70′s Pumas (like low-cut Romas and suede Clydes or anything soccer-related) and 70′s adidas (low-cut Orion, Samoas, Stan Smiths, Rod Lavers, shell toes). Would love to get some high-top Converse Weapons (Larry Bird’s) and some old Jordans also.

That’s a great photo. I always consider the greatest photos are the one when the subject is unaware and doing something natural. (except picking their nose that’s always weird.)

Also, what lens is that? if some one knows please let me know it looks like pure awesomeness!

New Balance Sneaks….t.d.f.?? I feel like you guys are turning into pre-pubescent boys. There is nothing, absolutely nothing attractive about that silly N on your shoes. If your feet hurt buy some insoles, or at least some nicer, less conspicuous sneakers. It’s Paris, not the midwest strip mall

You are a very stylish photographer but you have to get rid of the camera brand strap. I shoot Nikon and Fuji but you’ll NEVER see me using those straps. Get yourself a nice strap. Many more fashionalable straps out ther than those. I myself use all Domke straps on all my cameras but you’ll probably like the Artisans and Artists straps.Expensive but beautiful.

I was wondering what lens you were using while taking what ever picture is that you were taking? For the most part your images do not have much depth of field and are very crisp; what lens do you use the most or find yourself favoring?

I think you were in Saint-Germain-des-Près, no ? For a long time, this year, there were books in the branches of the trees.
You should come more often there, come around les Beaux Arts, sometimes art students have very interesting styles.
    Love your work,

This smacks of a previous post about your new to you ‘aged’ jeans. Self promotion and product placement. Fair play to you but, perhaps, unnecessary?

Loving the New balance, got a pair just like them, first pair of trainers Ive worn in years. Some snobs on here talking of self promotion etc, forget them, keep doing your thing, they meanwhile, do little of interest to anyone.
