On second look…there’s just too much fabric, everywhere. The coat needs less bulk, underneath. A delicate sheath maybe? I understand the nubs are part of the fabric, but the coat does look old.
The skirt, with a white shirt and those loafers, great. But the the skirt, the sweater, the coat…too much. The loafers should be replaced with boots and no coat.….juuuhhssst an opinion. That’s what comment sections are for, right?
I’m going to be honest. Cute girl! Too much thrift store, all at once. She obviously has no money for decent clothes and is going the thrift store/retro route, because that is what young people do. I did it myself, 25 years ago. While the whole idea of what she has on is definitely inspirational, the shoes are a big no–so beat up looking, and no socks. The coat has that old, nubby vintage texture, and I mean that in a bad way, and the lining is wrinkled. I love the color and the drape of that coat, but I want to burn it. Badly.
I love the outfit – the cut and colour of everything is just lovely (as is her makeup and pretty earrings). I can’t take the shoes. If she had on boots with a little heel, I think no one would comment on her seemingly lack of a look. There’s a very high end Italian brand that makes coats with that exact texture. Maybe it’s one of theirs .. and she’s thumbing her nose at anyone who would liken her look to being from a thrift shop. Joke’s on us?
I never understand people who start their comments with an assurance of their honesty. Did you figure that everyone else is lying?
Let me be honest; You have no idea wether this girl has money or not. And you have no idea what her clothing costs, all you have is your opinion, which is fine, as long as you realize that thats all it is. Are you suggesting she can’t afford socks? Because I can tell you, that lots of people( myself included) hate socks. I would never even think to wear them unless totally covered up by a boot. Her clothing looks of very high quality, and fit her to perfection, and I really doubt they came from a thrift store. Everything she has on is very deliberate, and the cloak seems new and expensive to me. It just has that texture.
Ouch! I like it. It doesn’t look thrift to me, although if it did I’d still like it. The coat seems very modern – I can’t place the shape and cut in any other period but now – although it carries nods to many others; so yes, on second thoughts, perhaps the 90s could have produced this cut too. And the jumper still has that bouyant look which evaporates after a season. I love the balanced shape and warmth of texture and colour; although her feet look freezing cold.
Seeing this photo makes me regret not buying a beautiful coat of a similar pastel-blue shade a few months ago. Heartbreaking!
Love the loafers and jumper too. I’ve got to know where this girl buys these gems.
