Absolutely love his shoes! That is such a strong look right now – refined worker boots with slim legs rolled up. It's perfect. Such an unexpected print on the jacket too. Really cool shot. xx
Am I starved for Sartorialist blogging or are you so much more than you were a few months ago? I cannot make up my mind. Are my eyes and mind more awake? S – - T! Cannot make up my mind. Am I starved for beauty in this World of white and snow? Yes! Love the photograph, love the hint of sunlight. Oh, how I want the warmth of spring. Loving the white pants, the boots, and the jacket. At 52, the crossroads of "What should I wear and what is the cut off age?" scream at me daily. Scott you send me.
I realize that these Red Wing-type American work-wear boots are all the rage in Italy these days → But, are they really that attractive to look at….?? :-( ♥ the jacket & the pants though…. ☆
for some reason not a fan of the jacket..(not sure if its the length or the bulkiness of it or both)..but i do love the cuffed chinos with the rugged boots, even though it appears more americanized.
I thought the boots were C.P. Company? In any case, nice Italian take on the classic American workboot. I have a 35-year-old pair of the originals in perfect condition after all these years and, boy, have they been useful this NYC winter!
Yes, to what someone said above…white pants with camo is very refreshing. People get afraid to wear white in the winter because it shows dirt. Just wear white, people! I do.
I appreciate that he's got his own style, but this look is much, much too pristine for me. The perfectly polished boots, spotless jeans, and immaculate jacket create a look that's precious, not cool.
He looks like his is skateboarding on his Red Wings. The cuffed white pants give the look a nice contrast. Only an Italian could make camo, Red Wings and white skinny jeans look polished together. The glint of his upswept gray hair, completes the image.
Like the pants and boots all right but really not liking the jacket at all. Horrible pattern and fit to my eye, surprised it has gotten so much love here.
I've just stumbled upon your blog – what a brillant read it is. I was thinking of doing something similiar myself. I love the celebration of 'ordinary' people.
Great pic…well, all of them. Italians are great too, but those boots are designed in Spain baby, you'll find them in Zara S/S 2011. All the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't like it-he looks like a poser. It's too "pristine" and costume-y. Kind of like wearing a biker jacket and not riding motorcycles or wearing a flight jacket and not flying planes.
Italian men are the best, goodlooking, goodressed.. French women are the most sophisticated ones, feminine, bourjeois, something poetic about them… English women are dreaming about being french… New-yorkers are kind of mix, you find there everything, it is the freedom to be whoever you want…
