I love her hair! It reminds me of that old school Pepsi commercial where the woman walks into a barber shop and gets her hair chopped off into a short bob before enjoying an ice cold Pepsi.
I wonder what she feels like, what she does in life… What does she want to express with this outfit? To me it looks very strange (not in a bad way, – just a surprised and wondering kind of way…). It’s irritating and provoking. Very courageous :)
:O she’s got the hair style I’m currently sporting, I call it the shark fin. Her outfit is very refined; you can feel her signature scribbled all over it, because I’m she, and she alone can pull this look off. Her watch is the only thing that seems out of place, yet it’s not something you would realise, until someone took a photo of her. Great post!
I wonder how representative the australian shots are…’cause if a good number of people are so cool, it would be worthwhile to go spend some time in Sydney… I agree, the buttoned-up shirt creates a good balance with the very casual -rest. posted from Chicago…city in search of more style.
I love whatever it is she’s wearing on her legs under that shirt and the reckless look of the whole outfit. The colors in this photo are amazing, well done.
That coat is completely to die for. i’m intrigued by the fabric i’d love to touch it! I agree with kagitsune 9.44am, she’s wearing a floral print and some wonderful shorts (vintage underwear?)and makes it look so edgy, a bit subversive. A female counterpart to Adam Ant in his early eighties heyday! Perfect backdrop too.
Yes, that jacket is everything good about the 70s, the elongated, rounded collar, the high waist, small sleeve, below-knee length, the color combination in those shapes, it’s all very happnin’.
wow, i have that exact same coat! ive also seen it at 2 different thrift stores and each time there is no label info..im dying to know the history of it beyond that it’s from the 70′s . its suede by the way…
What I find striking about this series of photos is how very different the light is. I have wondered at times whether you were using a different camera, but ultimately realized it was truly just the light. This seems to affect people’s color pallets. Though the looks are often parallel to what we might see in other places, the color sense does seem slightly different. I’m wondering if you have picked up on this?
I’m not a Doc Martens addict but it’s an nice part of the fashion history… Anyway I really like this pix, not because of her outfit (which is cool especially haircut and jacket), because of her face… she appears to be so strong and powerful…that carries everything…
Wow the first thing that struck me about this look is the wonderful colour combination…ambers, navy blue and crimsons are so Autumn appropriate. Love the slick hairdo too. Well played!
Some of us wear clothes, some of us own what we wear … model Myf just completely rocks in this. The shorts, the coat, the Docs. Style that you simply can’t learn. Deborah @ mabelailie.com
I would never have had the stylish ingenuity to even imagine these pieces together but she pulls it off and looks effortlessly friggin amazing at the same time!
Yes, she’s a beautiful girl and no doubt she could wear anything and look amazing. Well, almost…..so, maybe I’m the only one here but I think the outfit would look that much more amazing with one or two more contemporary elements (other than her hair) to contrast the overall vintage feel. A different top and a really striking bold piece of jewelery would highlight the coat even more- but this is just my opinion :)
So…um…Scott, there are a lot of pictures of Sydney siders but very few Melbournians to be seen……is this because you saved them all for your Saba campaign? Or will we see some on the blog soon? The suspense is killing me!
I enjoy the shorts she has but I’m undecided as to whether I like them with this outfit. Her skin is beautiful, though and she can clearly put together an outfit but I’m not sure about the watch…
Either way, I love the Docs I think they make this outfit. I’ve been looking for a good second-hand pair so that I don’t have to break them in!
I don’t care for the shoes. The coat is okay. Not my favorite outfit. Australia is a bit separated from the rest of the world. I know cuz I used to live there.
Great style. She looks like she just stepped off a runway—so put together. Smart color choices, and those shorts are awesome. (You picked a wonderfully complimentary background)…I wish I could tell what that is on her necklace.
OMG! I had this coat or one almost exactly like it. It was in the early 70′s and mine was suede. Even back then it was so cool, but its cooler now. Wish I would have kept it!
