I hate the combination of anything with the New Balance sneakers.

Just because it’s here doesn’t mean it’s stylish.

And just because you say it isn’t stylish, doesn’t mean it isn’t stylish.

        I agree.

I also love the combination of the New Balance, sweats and smart herringbone coat. Beautifully done. And he knows just how to wear it.

All this shouldn’t work together, but it does and this is appealing… Because of the tablecloth, the plastic chairs, the artificial grass/the carpet and the plain illumination, this looks like a scenery in theatre. It is framing him and his unusual, but really cool style-mixture of sportswear with British countryside-style coat and silk scarf quite well.

Can we stop with this asinine NB with everything trend?

Sweats, New Balance shoes and a silk scarf at the neck. I own all of these, but not in a thousand years could I achieve the look this gent has accomplished with such apparent ease.

    FUCK! NO!
Why New Balance to this coat & jogging pants ?
    Are you serious ?
    Persona non grata!

Is that the same New Balance as Steve Jobs always wore?

      Indeed it is.

Love the old school New Balance.

New Balance has been hip long before the Internet was even a factor in fashion. All of you haters check yourselves. The fact that they’re “square,” is the thing, therefore they are ubiquitous among discerning folk. And what do you prefer, Superga (sweatshop), Adidas (sweatshop), or Nike (same)?

Haters?! I hate that word. Check myself, indeed.

I hate these shoes.—whatever they are called, wherever they were before, or what shape they are.

You make sure to put on your hipster glasses before you made that comment, bro?

I like to see the teddy fur texture from the fall catwalks coming through on the street. Patrick Ervell had sports influenced fleeces in it. Didn’t think to see it in pants.
it’s that old school texture polar fleece.
Less offensive when combined definitely..Anyone else?

Well, uh, if one MUST wear, um, FLEECE SWEAT PANTS IN PUBLIC …. I guess this is the way to elevate the look.

    Uh …..

I’m with the person who said “fuck no!”

I was in Milan on Tuesday, trying to figure out how to stylishly rock my NB. Never succeeded. I opted for the stylish booties. My feet were killing me.

Hi Scott, you may have seen this book already, but if not these are some shots from a great collection of 1980′s ‘On the Street’ photos from Italy:

Italian street style photography before “Street Style Photography” existed. Thought it’d be right up your alley. You’re sure to recognise some of the places. Enjoy!

He looks dumpy wearing sweats and sneaks. Mixing it with a classic coat and a scarf gives unusual contrast, but it’s still dumpy.

A great coat and scarf can cover a myriad of sins! I do it all the time. Just another way a fabulous coat proves to be a clever investment.

You can be stylish even when wearing comfortable clothing. I’m used to see fitness chic looks characterized by being vulgar or low class. Finally an outfit that expresses value.
