Fantastic! I love the tight control of the silhouette and the simplicity combined with the almost awkward quality of the dress. And the glasses! I can’t even express how much I want frames like those.
Of course I love to see looser, prettier, more complicated outfits, but somehow the blacker, simpler, more off-kilter ones fascinate me the most.
Ooh la la! She’s so covered up that one’s just dying to know what lies beneath those layers (and I say that as a heterosexual woman)! This is definitely an example of librarian-sexy done right!
i kinda like this….would like to see it with a different shirt color – maybe white – or something bold…the blacks don’t match and that sorta bothers the OCD in me…
i think that is an american apparel dress! I love the black and navy and how she used the sexy dress as a high-waisted skirt. very, very cool. and the glasses are awesome.
I’ve been following your blog for the past year and I think this particular picture clearly captures the essence of the modern woman to me. Attitude, style and culture is somehow glowing from this young lady. I’m wondering what she does for a living and how un-serious she actually is?….
YES! i love this. she looks so fantastic. love the blue and black, love the puffed sleeves – totally elevates this outfit. this is diy high fashion. so much more inventive than just going to h&m for a cheaper version. even if the pieces are h&m, she is really doing her own thing with them.
Brilliant use of simple color and flattering proportion. Kind of an intellectual/cool vibe. She makes the preppy glasses look distinctive and modern. Love it!
I’m loving the overall look of this, high-waisted skirt, awesome glasses, etc. But look a little closer and the skirt is actually…a dress. Too diy for my taste. Not a big fan of the blue and black combo here either. But wonderful proportions!
Really love this – definitely the sexy librarian look, a bit uptight, ready for a killer glare and a ssshhhhhhhhh!!! that makes you want to crawl along the baseboards, out of the reading room.
Excellent! Love the dress-pulled-down-as-high-waisted skirt, the navy and black combo, the glasses. High fashion without a label in sight (or spending a lot of money I’m guessing)! She gets an A+
i love this look (is that a corset dress or a dress worn as a corset, and what brand??) but i feel she is wearing too much black for summer. it looks stuffy.

Tube top as a light-hold corset? If nothing else, it’s a great way to transition from a youthful style to one that is slightly more mature.

The fact that she doesn’t appear to be wearing a bra distracts from the look. A different shirt could be used, but I really like the idea.
