Agreed. The “perfectly normal” being the classic palette of white, navy and camel. The “so strange” strikes me as the nylon-y material and wide cut of the wind breaker jacket–its oversized drawstring at the hem and its sharp v-neck–over a cotton blouse and fine wool skirt. And I love that someone took a normal pair of Oxfords and made them into something strange.
I’d have to wear oh-so-interesting shoes with some kind of sock, but they do look wearable for the weak-ankled me. Wait I take that back. I have high arches, I couldn’t wear these because there’s a space between the heel and the rest of the shoe. I need a completely flat surface to compensate for my arches.
I like that this is similar to the drop waist skirt, but just with a longer skirt and a baggy jacket/cardigan. I also really love the indent at the heel of the shoes. http://www.whenwewander.blogspot.com
The shoes were a surprise as I scrolled down. The current trend for wedge trainers really upsets my equilibrium, but these are fantastic. I love the brogue detailing, the patent, and the almost Dali-esque shape to them. Great stuff…
