passion. intense passion.
blue shoes and the grey of the concrete sidewalk the forehead the blouse print the green of the dress and the planter box . even the cars black white black white…this is a world class photo. one of the best i’ve seen.
Really like this shot, personally I believe that the outfit would look more sophisticated and edgy if she wore just the cardigan or the shoes with the dress. They are all fabulous pieces separately, but all together…hum…not working for me!
She’s taken the “elegant lady” look and made it cool & striking by wearing unexpected (but saturated & fairly low-key) colors, keeping the accessories to a minimum, pairing two classic fabric types (lace and zebra stripe) that don’t usually go together, and eschewing fussiness and obvious “grooming.” Were I to embrace that sort of style, I’d try to work it like she does. She looks great!
Wow, i think i’m pretty much the only one who doesn’t like this. And don’t take me wrong, it’s not the shot, the shot is great (as alway’s) but i think she looks cheap.
It’s just to much, the zebra print, the lacy dress, the pointy shoes, the hair, the tan i really, really don’t like it…..
Great outfit plus great captured moment equals really cool photo. I love the forrest green lace and the white and black together. So elegant, and almost minimalist even though there are three different elements. Wonderful shot.
Uggh, i pushed Send by accident a second ago and sent a very unfinished comment .
I’ll try again here…because i’m sooo excited about this shot!
I’m beyond thrilled to see this photo. Everything about it is alive, artful and moving! And I am so grateful to see an elegant, fashionable 50 ish woman…showing us how it’s done.
While she is wearing trends with the colors and mixing…she doesn’t overdo the trends on any level. Just perfect.
It actually looks to me like she quickly put this together…she has a crazy busy life, not much time to think “oh ..what to wear”? And an innate sence of style. Appropriate …but sanppy!
The length, fit, neckline of the dress is perfect for her age, while the lace, color is on trend and gives it a youthfulness w/o overdoing . The shoe style and color make it rock. The sweater just brings it all together, and can even serve as a bit of arm covering…which many others of us use. and that zebra design with lots of white against her face illuminates her! With a few gold accessories, she just screams (in that good way) confidence, class and spot on style.
Anna Wintour could learn a thing or three from Marpessa.
I also love the casual way she is wearing her hair. She is not a lady of leisure spending hours at the salon. She is real. She means business!
Spectactular Scott. The shot itself is a dream, every detail of the frame, you must have fainted when you saw her. This is what i’ve been dying to see more of.
Casssandra, my sweet, every piece this woman is wearing is sophisticated and classic. She exerts her personality and sense of style with her choice of bold pattern and rich color accents. Not to be unkind, but youngsters immediately reveal thier immaturity with remarks like yours. This woman is in the prime of her life and I suspect that’s where she will choose to remain! Personally I like that her hair and makeup are not overdone.
Thanks Scott for this image. Marpessa knows that style trumps fashion all the time. Of course the outfit is perfect for her and that’s what real style is. She’s got it in spades and that’s why she always stands out; too many sheep out there now and some of these fashion editors are so over the top that they appear rediculous to just try and outdo themselves from the previous season. Enough already… Empporer’s new clothes. More like this, Scott…
Great color combination, rarely see turquoise with green but it definitely works. It’s also awesome to capture someone while they are talking on the phone; you always wonder what the other person is saying on the other end of the line.
