On the Street…Via Montenapoleone, Milan

91918PreC9126IG

Via Montenapoleone and it’s surrounding streets must be the single most chic streets (by-density-of-chic-per-capita) than any other collection of streets anywhere in the world!

In the past couple of days, I’ve been dressing similar to the Gent in the blazer. I don’t look anywhere near as sharp as him, but I’ve been very pleased with the results of re-visiting the classics. They’re “classics” for a reason. Also, IMHO, I’d give a strong shout-out to the fashionistas of Amsterdam. In a chat with a native-who-became-a-pal, he told me that I was seeing so many casually-well-dressed people was simply because the natives believed that you were supposed to try and look good when out in public. D ** N! Spread it around, please! (But I know you Lovelies already believe that … ‘else you wouldn’t be here:) Peace Out.

The gentleman facing the camera is striking. Well groomed, cool shades, intense look, classic but not boring colour combo, polished shoes, the whole package.

Without wanting to be a nag, I cannot help but note that I find the pants just a tad (or a few) baggier and shorter than what I would prefer on this person. To me the pants should either be a bit longer, or a bit skinnier (or both – an inner voice would say).

Totally agree. From the waist up, tres chic. From the waist down, “What happened?”

Is it me, or do those tan pants have too much sizing or starch? Instead of draping there are places where they clump in unflattering ways.

The word “chic” must be the most overused word in the fashion world at the moment…probably because there is so much vulgarity around in sense of style.

A bunny print on a man’s jacket? The colors work, but a bunny?
