There’s something very charming about the contrast of her very proper, classic outfit and the beautiful tattoo crawling down her arm.

I really like the focus on the tattoo because of the white shirt. Great picture.

I, too, am not a fan of obvious tattoos but nothing disarms one as easily as a warm smile.

I was just going to write, “oh, look how conservative and proper her outfit is …. contrasted by the tatt inching down her arm ….” and then scrolled down and read your caption! hahahh

    Cool shot.

without the tattoo the outfit would be a bit to preppy. but I love it like that!

I love taking a classic outfit and tweaking it somehow. She’s done this beautifully.

Thanks Mafalda for your comment. I can see the point of the edgy contrast between the classical outfit and the tat. But still such a big tattoo looks like crap to me, I may be to east-coastish (or the German version of that) to find the beauty in it. It’ a question of colours, which are never well defined but always seem to have some brownish, grayish undertone. It’s the shapes that are mostly a little unsurprising.

A couple of years ago maybe you posted a fantastic shot of a woman in NYC. She wore and very prim little navy dress and a very grown up full bob hair do (partly grey) all coupled with a LOT of tatoos … can be a great juxta look. B

But I’m always wondering: how will they feel when they’re 50 and this fashion fad has long passed. In spite of what they say, these don’t come off without leaving discolored skin behind.

Tattoos have been around long enough to not be called a fad, I think. Besides, it’s all about aging gracefully. A tattoo grows with you and ages with you. Plenty of older folk with tattoos still look amazing!

I usually love mashups but they have to be done with a sense of making something new from combining opposites. For me this just looks like a very bourgeois woman put on the wrong arms this morning! I think large, prominent, showy tattoos just jumped the shark.

I do like her colourful trousers and she has a charming smile but the tatto is not for me personally. The tatto stands in stark contrast naturally, however, I find tattos too much of a fad, something that one will regret decades on.

hej! i would like only to express my personal opinion about tattoos. i think they are boring, some 20 years ago they were original, but now? everyone has a tot too. The picture is very good, but no innovation in a white shirt and the tattoo on the arm. it’s no innovative. i see in the continuous show of photos of people with tattoo the weaker celebration of something passed by , already.
No originality. it’s to say: i have a tattoo so i’m special. please dont’t do the wrong investment: personality is not a tattoo and it’s not elegant at all.
    Thank you,
    Marta
